To say Saban wasn't recruiting at this level at LSU is laughable. I honestly think Saban was recruiting at an elite level at Michigan State. Go back and look at the studs that came through there under his watch. Michigan State didn't have that level of players under Perles or D'Antonio.

I might be in the minority, but I think James Franklin would be a great replacement.

Buddy, Dabo Swinney has more gump in his left foot than you or I have in our entire bodies. The whole “Dabo ain’t goin to Bama” rhetoric comes from taters and LSU and Auburn fans that are scared to death of a 40 year dynasty

No it isn’t. What he’s done here makes Pete Carroll’s USC classes look like a typical Auburn class. You’re vastly underselling how much elite high end talent has come here. He’s finished #1 in recruiting like 10/12 years. He wasn’t coming close to that at LSU. He locked down the state and was there when the state was really loaded. He turned them into the boogeyman. What he’s done at Bama is the guy you send to kill the boogeyman

Agree with that.....Dabo’s “Aw Shucks” style isn’t a good fit for Bama

Yeah, that would be nice but sometimes you can't decide who will take your job. OU has had to settle on assistant coaches (Bob Stoops, Lincoln Riley). OSU hired an assistant for HC as well.

James Franklin would be an incredible replacement but I don't think he'd leave Penn State to come here.

Why don't you list all the studs Saban recruited at those other programs? LSU fans say Bama has busts in NFL but I don't recall Rohan Davey or that wr doing isht on the next level.

Dabo is too 'neck for my taste. He's a recruiter, and that's all fine and dandy but in the SEC you need have your X and Os down pat. This isn't a mickey mouse conference that you can steamroll every year w/o much effort.

I liked Dabo as the next coach, but he kind of comes off as used car salesman like the more he's in the spot light.

No longer really like him as the next coach, but if he gets hired and does well, then I guess maybe it'll grow on me.

As an LSU fan, I would love it if you hired Cristobal. Atrocious game management. Maybe he'll improve in that area, but I thought the same about Tom Herman a few years ago and he hasn't improved a lick. So maybe you either get it or you don't.

Cristobal is like Ed O come to think of it. Problem is you're always living or dying by your assistant coaches.

Dabo is not just a recruiter. He wasn’t recruiting at the level he currently is until the past 4 to 5 years. What he lacks in Xs and Os he makes up for by recognizing his shortcomings, identifying and hiring someone that will make up for it. He is doing what has made Saban so great and that’s adjusting his strategy to the current game.

That is one reason I believe Kirby will not win or sustain winning at a high level. He is too conservative and stuck in a football mindset Saban was 5-6 years ago. The foundation of the program can be rigid but having flexibility with your strategy will allow for long term success.

It’ll be that way no matter who the coach is. If the head coach is doing the OC or DCs job he’s probably not doing all of his.

Sabah, Urban, Pete Carroll handled coaching changes with ease. Not the case with Tuberville, for ex.

Dabo needs a great qb to win. Those aren't exactly growing on trees. Also, Dabo always been known to be a great recruiter going back to his days at Bama. Main reason Clemson promoted him.

Dabo is out of the question and way out of the league of people who would replace saban. The people bashing him are laughable. Mario Cristobal is more in the wheelhouse

Look for Saban to have a say.

He probably will, but he and Dabo are pretty friendly. They make a point of dining together when they are at their neighboring beach houses. If Dabo is who the AD at the time wants, Saban won't try to dissuade them unless he is absolutely dead set on someone else (and while I think he'll have say, I don't think he wants to name his own replacement).
