He's beat us in TWO NC games in the past three years. I fully understand not wanting Dabo, but don't give a dumbass excuse for it.

Dabo needs a great qb to win. Those aren't exactly growing on trees.

Clemson has had ONE season in the last nine years without an elite starter at QB. And they have a commitment from this year's #1 QB. Seems like it's not all that hard for CU to find them.

Dabo is out of the question and way out of the league of people who would replace saban. The people bashing him are laughable.

I’m not saying Dabo will come but we should try. I just saying Dabo is a great coach and I’d be happy to have him!

With the offense we’re running now we have to have a great qb.

I don't think any of the decision-makers wants Dabo. It'll be tough to go from a CEO coach who's the face of CFB, to a goofy, awe-shucks guy who plays up the southern accent.

Look for Saban to have a say

Saban's recommendation for his replacement at LSU was Houston Nutt.

Saban Leaving is 5-8 years away imo. Who knows what the landscape will be then. Hell Lincon Riley may have went to the NFL busted and neeeding a gig by then. Dabo may be either getting run out of clemson or wanting to leave there on his own. Hell Sark may have been with us for this whole length of time blistering defenses and learning everyday from Saban who has been teaching him to takeover. No one knows.

Didn't we learn anything from 1982 to 2006?

One thing you’d better get ready for if Dabo is the next guy: it’s in his coaching DNA for having worked with Tommy Bowden and Bill Curry. There’s going to be that one game a year where Mississippi State or Missouri or even Vanderbilt just wears our arse out and we come away with an ugly loss or a skin of your teeth win. It’s an annual event with Dabo. The yearly WTF game. See Clemson vs UNC for example.

No, because of the way he bends his cap bill.

I agree, the bill is a little too bent, but it is light years better than a flat bill.

You really think Dabo would come to Bama after Saban retires?? I could be wrong but I think by the time Saban retires Dabo will be so ingrained at Clemson it'll be almost impossible to pry him away..

Dabo would be in Tuscaloosa on the first boat smoking.

Prior to Tua, we didn't exactly breeze through the schedule every year either (albeit, it's the SEC and not the ACC)

2008 - Kentucky
2010 - Arkansas, South Carolina
2013 - Mississippi State
2014 - West Virginia, Ole Miss, Arkansas
2015 - Ole Miss, Arkansas
2016 - Ole Miss
2017 - Mississippi State

I get where you are going with this......but I think that is more of an aspect of college football.

You remember Saban's first year at LSU. They lost to UAB and Watson Brown.....the coach with the most losses in College Football.

Remember Saban's first year at Bama? LA-Monroe taking it to us? How bout 2009 when it took 2 blocked field goals to beat a UT team, that finished 1 game over .500 (7-6)

It happens.

This, times 1,000. All day long.

The guy has the next closest thing to a dynasty going, after Nick Saban. He can be a bigger f**king redneck than Jeremy Pruitt for all I care.

All these people throwing out the names of people who have won nothing. Absolutely nothing.

When Saban retires, there's one name on the short list and one name only. No other possible candidate has the background. Maybe Dabo doesn't take it, but you offer him an appropriately huge pile of money and make him say no. If he does say no, then you move on to other options.

This happened in 2017. We've had a few ugly wins with Saban...and a few losses to lesser opponents.

Cristobal is like Ed O come to think of it. Problem is you're always living or dying by your assistant coaches

I don't really see many similarities. Orgeron has been pretty good at game management. Cristobal is shaky AF.

This is a dream but I hope we get an offensive minded coach and Pruitt comes back as a career DC.

If Mac Jones had started Saturday, and the Tennessee freshman had not been knocked out, good chance the 12-game streak ends. I don't know what everyone else was watching, but I saw an outmanned Tennessee defense stick it to Bama. And that was even with a true freshman ILB for a half, for all you relying on the "youth" excuse for Golding.

Tennessee's problem became very evident Saturday night. Yes, they do not have the depth right now. But more than that, they have been hamstrung by a bad QB for two years now. If the freshman comes along, or if they bring in a decent transfer, watch out. Pruitt is not near as bad as many are making him out to be. I think the tune on his desirability as a coach changes drastically in the next few years.

So, the knock on Cristobal is game management? This is Alabama you can get someone to help him with that. What you can't find on trees are dynamite recruiters who have success as head coaches. Cristobal came to Tuscaloosa because he'd been unjustly fired from FIU. Plus, had Cristobal stayed at Miami where he had a job before Saban offered no telling where that program would be sitting. I say all that to say Cristobal is heavily tied into arguably the best recruiting area in the U.S. and he's wise enough to let his other coaches coach. That along with recruiting prowess are rare qualities.

I don't think Dabo is a slam dunk hire. Far from it. The Alabama job has always been one of the biggest jobs in all of sports and it's in the most competitive college football conference. I wonder if Dabo would give up a better quality of life to be the head coach at Alabama.

The knock-on Cristobal is the time he's been a HC in Duckville. He had a first-round QB decide to come back for a senior season. When does that happen? When Hebert leaves and it's his recruits, let's see what kind of team he puts on the field.
