One thing to ALWAYS count on with the game at Jerkin Hair, they always get what I call "magical" calls from the refs that go their way (i.e. TERRIBLE calls by the refs or completely ignoring penalties they commit such as flagrant holding).

If you watch closely, when Auburn has the ball, they always get very generous spots on the ball by the refs and terrible spots on the ball when the opponent has it.

I'd also add they have some incredibly weird, dumb luck that goes their way. I'm sure Freeze will have some weird plays called too.

My fear is that our guys will have watched the New Mexico State game and think they can just show up and win big. They cannot let up on these goobers.

I'd be stunned if Bama doesn't win but I have a hunch it'll be closer than we'd like.

This is the kinda Iron Bowl that is a 21+ point Alabama victory in Tuscaloosa and a 7-10 point Alabama victory in Auburn.

Their HFA shaves more points than what is normal in their big rivalries despite their home record not necessarily suggesting it is one of the toughest environments. It is that way for Alabama and Georgia.

I think we beat them soundly. JHS mystique is overplayed.

We are overdue to have a good start out of the gate in Jordan Hare. If we can get some TDs on the board early, I think they’ll fold and things can get ugly.

As always, don’t let them hang around develop hope.

Being that the game is inside the confines of that sorcery filled bowl name Jordan-Hare I fully expect them to have at least 1 miraculous wtf play, and Alabama to play so tight you couldn’t drive a straight pin up our collective buttholes.

On paper we should wax them.

If it wasn't for miracles and flukes, Bama would have only lost once to Auburn since 2008 and that loss would have been in 2017.

Should we?……. Hell yeah!
Will we? ….. That damn voodoo in that god forsaken stadium is real!!! Outside of like 3 games there where we handled business from start to finish, we have been in a knock down drag out fight and that voodoo has reared its head a few of those times. They have been prepping for us for awhile and it showed Saturday night. They want nothing more than to wreck the possibilities of what this season could become.

This will be the toughest game of the year. I mean look at that 2021 abortion against a ghastly Harsin team.

2021 was awful, but it didn’t help that we basically didn’t have an RB due to injuries and JW’s ejection gave Bryce only one target. That AU team had also shown some flashes of being good (although that was before Nix’s injury).

Now something could rear its head on Saturday, but this is the worst Auburn team we have ever played in BDS.

I’m not saying we can just roll our helmet out there and win….but if we come out and play like we have been, then this shouldn’t be close.

We lost in 2017 because Saban played Hurts instead of Tua.

Seems that way. But in 2013, without the kick six play, who’s to say we beat them in OT? We just never put them away that day.

Oh great...the 10 year anniversary of the kick 6....like they even need more incentive to bring this up during the game!

Purposely lost the game.
My conspiracy theorist in me believes this.
We needed the rest for a CFP run and it worked

I’m more upset about not running Josh Jacobs more in that game.

Jacobs is possibly the most underutilized player in the Saban era.

Saban seems to always coach uptight at the beginning of games in JHS. Auburn is usually good enough to match that energy, which keeps games closer than they should be. He use to coach the same way against LSU but eventually grew out of it. Wish he'd do the same when playing at Auburn, but I guess he won't at this point. He could definitely take a page out of Chizik's 2009 playbook, if you've ever heard him talk about what he told his Auburn team before that Iron Bowl.

This game alone has cost Bama at least 2 more than legit shits at a national title in the Saban era.

Auburn has nothing to lose in this game. And it’s been that way since Saban arrived. Saban has Bama playing for championship’s going into this game and auburn is just playing for pride and bragging rights.

I think it makes a big difference on how player plays with aggressiveness and flying around with nothing to lose mentality

You think an auburn player is going to give a shite about being called for targeting vs a Bama player trying not to get called for targeting? It makes a huge difference when one team has a lot riding on the line while the other has nothing to lose and everything to gain

Staging a crash on the interstate and cause the Auburn team to be 90 minutes late? What about in 2015 when they slicked up the field so much that Henry looked like he was roller skates?

J/K. I hear you. It seems like we are always in “survive the shitstorm” mode in the first half at JHS, which leads to a close game. It would be great if we finally went down there and created our own shitstorm. Really come out hot and extinguish any kind of hope they may have. We’re overdue to do that.
