No prospective OC other than Locksley will take this job without an assurance that they can play Tua. So if Locksley gets it ...look out. He's a RPO guy and he may have Saban's blessing in trying to resurrect Jalen's career.

From a selfish view I am hopefull #2 will stick with the Tide and make his best efforts to getting better each day. You have to have a 2nd QB that can play at a high level. Hell look what happened to FSU this year. Again we don't need #2 leaving TitleTown.

I seriously doubt Saban is going to make a coaching hire just for Jalen. I think Saban knows that Tua is the guy, but he might not annoint Tua until the first game of next season, which imo, should happen much sooner

It would certainly be nice to have Jalen on the roster, as long as he's comfortable taking a backseat role. I just hope it's communicated to everyone that he's the backup now, and that the starting QB spot isn't up for grabs

Tua is far from a finished product. Both QBs need developing. And, as we saw this season all it takes is one play and a backup must step up.

Ridley didn't do good job of showing leadership though.

If Clemson had been the quarterfinal, Georgia the semi, and if we were playing the championship tonight, Saban would start Hurts. I'd bet every dollar I have on it.

Nobody is trying to please you. Especially not Nick frickin Saban lmao

But if I ever was to like losing to Auburn, it’d be this year. Roll Tide!! #17

Stop acting like everyone is happy about losing to Auburn.

Sadly, I think you are right. Why I think about situation is fixing to get dicey. IMO, if Tua not got a good idea he is starting he will be gone

The problem is that with a game plan involving Hurts, at least half the pass plays end up being runs.

I was banned for giving an opinion that most of the board didn't want to hear. I was right on top of it. It was unfair, period. The idiots were the ones saying Hurts was a good quarterback and that the problems were with the line, drops and bad play calling. And frick you for calling me an idiot mother fricker. You guys were clearly the dumbasses not me.

LOL! I wasn't even here for the conversations and even I can tell that you weren't banned "just for saying things that people didn't agree with."

Spin it any way you want to but context is important.

A poster said the national title is all that's important. "Period"

My simple response is that I never like losing to Auburn, which obviously implies that the Auburn game is important to me. Then BamainVa responds with the typically sensitive guy b.s.

As for "Nick frickin Saban" not trying to please me, I don't even care about that. I still don't like losing to Auburn and Tua Tagovailoa would have given us a better chance that Jalen Watch Me Roll Out And Throw The Ball Away Hurts.

You and BamainVa were two of the steadfast Jalen Hurts fanboys. I don't expect you to feel any differently.

While no one would suggest that pleasing the fans is at the forefront of any coach's mind...especially Nick Saban's...the reality is that they don't play these games in empty stadiums. Are Bama fans spoiled? Sure. We have perhaps unrealistic expectations. But I don't at all think there's a lack of appreciation among anything more than a microscopic portion of the fan base.

As for myself, I'm ecstatic with the product on the field. My criticisms are for things like scheduling dogshit FCS teams, and for charging postseason prices to go see fricking Duke in a season opener. At least Byrne and Saban are talking about getting away from that.

The silver lining of losing to them this year is that we got to rest and get healthy, rather than getting more banged up and possibly lose more starters in the SECCG.

U don't read very well sometimes huddie...I stated at least twice Tua should start . U can't praise Tua it seems without getting in a dig at jalen. Dang man I wouldn't have even responded had u not brought me into this. I'm tired of the fanboy shite , I appreciate what BOTH bring to this team.

I brought you into this? Uhhh, no. Two times on the first and second page of this thread I was responding to other posters, never had even said a word to or about you, and you butted in, responding to me. That's a far cry from me bringing you "in to this".

And since it's a chat board, I'll offer an opinion when I want to do that. In fact, I am much more likely to give my opinion to somebody suggesting I don't, Preacher.

I'd just like to remind everyone we won the national title 1 week ago tonight.

The national championship.

A thing that most fanbases would literally see as the greatest event in their fanhood lives.

Cheers!

I ruffled feathers in September just for hoping Tua would see meaningful playing time...
