I fricking loved that guys defense, we would’ve blitzed the frick out of Macintyre and loaded up on the run today.

Offense is a different story, we all hate Grubb, but Kane has bizarre game plans sometimes

I liked Pruitt, he was good, but y’all seem to have selective memories as he had some pretty bad games as well. The 2016 defense under Pruitt gave up 400+ passing yards in a game three times (30+ points in each) that season. Most of y’all went apeshit in 2020 when Golding gave up yardage like that against Ole Miss and UF even though we won a nattie that season and the D played well outside those two games…

Offensive football was a lot different in 2016 than it is today.

One of those games was the Clemson game where they ran 99 plays

Is Pruitt coaching anywhere?

Isn’t Pruitt banned from coaching for like half a dozen years with that whole show-cause order after he got caught up in some stuff during his time at UT.

Edited to add: last I heard he’s in an advisory role at Jax State. Think he’s biding his time til he can coach again.

Agreed. Some people on here cry too much in Kane’s defense. I’m not saying he’s a bad coach, but it pisses me off when a fairly shitty Tennessee offense can just throw wide receiver screens at will because our corner back is 8 yards off the LOS when they only need 4-5 yards.

Pruitt was the best DC Saban ever had. I'd take him back in a minute

Player loyalty is different now too. Hard-nosed, half-crazy, and "eat-up-with-Bama" players are hard to find in this era of "sold to the highest bidder"

They’re mercenaries and it’s going to get worse because the bill in Congress everyone has been counting on is doornail dead.

Pruitt would probably get torched by veer n shoot teams. Wommack would’ve likely been fine if the offense didn’t trip over and fall on their sword running out of the tunnel yesterday.

You need to accept the fact that Pruitt is virtually unhireable for most head coaches. The drama he has brought to staffs as an assistant, along with the fact that he might stab the HC in the back at some point makes him untouchable. Only a Nick Saban could hire a Jeremy Pruitt and make it work.

Having a Jeremy Pruitt on staff with an incompetent like Grubb is asking for trouble. Just wait until Pruitt's defense keeps getting gassed because Grubb's offense keeps going three and out. DeBoer would never have the chops to deal with that.

Yes I remember third and Kirby very well. A mobile QB and the middle 3rd of the field were his nemesis.

Pruitt is coaching HS football for his father somewhere in north Alabama. Place starts with an H.

He's sued to remove the show cause. He won but the NCAA appealed to the Alabama Supreme Court. I do not think the ASC has decided whether to hear the appeal.

Whether he coaches here or not it's insane that he's practically banned from coaching with today's free for all environment.

I like Pruitt but the game is different now. Can he adjust to it? Who knows. We may never know.

Kirby is a prick, a puss, and a Georgia guy. Pruitt has a giant Bama tattoo on his back and I believed he called a better game. Give me Pruitt.

Ditto

Give me the guy that will show intensity and fire on the sidelines.

Not some confused, I'm gonna cry look.

Besides optics, the coaches only job is go out and put our players in a position to succeed.

Not hijack, screw up, and make it more difficult.
That's Grubb and effectively Deboer is doing right now.
There incompetence given their salary is what pisses me off.
