I'll admit it; I have a bad feeling about this year......

Not so much the USC game but just the season in general. I have a feeling that this is the year that we're going to be knocked out of contention pretty early on, just like in 2010.
Think about it: ALL of our hardest games are on the road this year, which is just insane (granted we'll see how high UT and OM are when we get around to playing them). Plus we're ranked number one, which makes me nervous as hell. Call me superstitious but the last two times we started out #1 preseason not only did we get knocked out early, but the damn Barn ended up playing for it all.
I'm usually a sunshine pumper (just look at all of my previous post on here) and I'm obviously excited for the upcoming season and hope we win it all, but I'm just nervous for some reason. Anyone else feel this way?

No not nervous but I do accept that with a new QB and unproven RB that Bama may not be as good as years past. It's a matter of perspective. They can't win the sec every year. I would not be surprised to lose to Ole Miss, TN and LSU this year they have more experience and are talented teams. How Bama plays USC will tell us a lot about where this team is. If they beat USC like a drum I would expect another ten win season. If we barely pull it off considering USC depth issues I would be prepared for a 3 or 4 loss season.

Yeah I can see where your coming from. This team like the 2010 team has a lot of talent but will they put it all together with so many high expectations and tough road schedule is the big question. Talent isn't everything.

Well I think we are going 15-0.

A couple of points. Even in 2010 we went into the LSU game in November as a 1 loss contender. We lost two close games down the stretch that knocked us out, but we were in the thick of things entering the last month of the season. I'm still not sure how we managed to blow that Auburn game.
As far as a close win against USC signaling bad things...not necessarily. USC is a legit top 20 team with one of the most talented starting 22 we will see all year. Their depth issues are not likely to be exposed until late in the season, so a win of any sort against the Trojans should be viewed as a very good thing.
I agree it feels like we are due for a down season. That said, with as much talent as we have on the roster this team should never be counted out. If the DL can stay healthy this defense will keep us in every game this season which will allow a young offense to gel and get better as the season goes along. To me the key is surviving the first 3 games of the season. If we can find a way to beat USC and OM, we will be set up well for a run even if we stumble in Knoxville or some other game.

It isn't any different than every other year.
If we aren't going to LSU, Tennessee, OM, and Arky then we are going to Auburn, Aggie, Moo State, and somewhere else in the east.
Just last year we had a new QB, all new starting WRs, and 3 freshmen DBs - and a schedule that included preseason east favorite UGA, west favorite Auburn, and highly regarded State with Dak on the road.
Seemed to work out ok.
If 2016 Bama pulls a 2010, it won't be due to the schedule.
For what it is worth, I haven't been as optimistic about a season as I am this year since 2012. This team should be very, very good.

Yeah we're just due for a letdown, have several question marks at key positions, have the usual tough schedule, and looks like we'll have a freshman QB taking significant snaps. I'm realistically expecting 9-3 or 10-2 this year, regular season. I don't know if we make it to Atlanta and further. It's a tall order. I know I'll get pissed off during the inevitable loss and bitch with the best of you, but currently, I'm at peace with the prospect of "just" a very good year. And look forward to the future with Hurts, Najee Harris, and Co. on offense and the patented Bama Brick Wall defense. The future is bright, even if the immediate future is a little cloudy.

If we have leadership on both sides of the line we should be fine, if not could be a long year.
You can have all the talent in the world, but if you don't leaders you won't win the close games.

Jesus H Christ - Bunch of Nega-Bammers up in here. Change your tampons out ladies. We don't have any more questions or any tougher schedule than any other year. This team is going to be very good.
Saban is going for immortality so buckle up bitches.

I dont know where we will end up. Just like the last 6 years or so. We won some championships during that time, and missed out on a few as well. Still way way way better than any other program. It will be a fun ride championship this year or not.

None of us are saying Bama is going to suck. All we're saying is it wouldn't be that shocking if this team lost like 2 games and didn't play for the NC.

Sure, that's possible.. but.. with the defense coming and the talent on offense.. if their mindset is right, I could see the table being run. I think 12-2 worst case.
Boo yah!

If shite goes south, at least we get to watch this defense all year. It's going to be epic.

I'll take 10-3 then win the the national title for the next two years.

My biggest concern, that no one is talking about, is the offensive line. LT is back, Pierschbacher is back, but at a new position, and Shank COULD be back if he gets out of the doghouse. Other than that, we are talented, but very green. I'm not saying it will be bad, but it seems like a bigger question mark than anyone will admit.
In 2010, we had a talented, but green line, and had some injuries. In 2013, we couldn't get the tough yards in the run game versus Auburn, and couldn't block Okie's pass rushers in the Sugar Bowl.
OL woes have been a common thread in our down years.
