People already saying Bama is on the decline again. Reminds me of what everyone was saying at the end of the 2014 season. I don’t know if this is the end but if it is then as the following poem says it, I hope they don’t go out quietly. I want them to play Clemson one last time full of vengeance and furious anger. I want them to go out fighting.

quote:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

We have made 5 playoffs in a row.

We have made the national championship game 4 years in a row.

We will likely be preseason #2 next year and considered the overwhelming favorite to win the SEC and make the playoffs once again.

People are being drama queens and overreacting to one debacle of a game.

I don’t think people are taking into consideration how much talent Georgia & Clemson are losing next season. We will be the favorites.

Meh. They all end some time, and the amount of wins before they do is irrelevant.

Miami played for 5 NC's in 10 years. You think they saw the collapse to malaise coming when Bama destroyed them in a game in the 1992 season and they had to start out #3 the next year?

Nope, but it happened. It will happen to Bama, too. May be now, or it may still be a few years off, but saying it can't happen soon just because we've won a bunch of games is both egotistical and short sighted.

The fact is, that neither you, nor the OP has any clue when it will end, or even if it already has.

Nobody is foolish enough to think the dynasty will last forever, no dynasty does. But a single loss to a very legit Clemson team, even a lopsided one, is not a harbinger of anything.

The "dynasty is dead" narrative is on like version 4 at this point.

It was "dead" after Auburn/OU 13. It was "dead" after the Ohio State loss in 14. It was "dead" after the Ole Miss debacle of 15. etc.

What's short sighted is reacting to every single loss with hysterics.

Next time we drop 2-3 games in the regular season, then people can start clutching pearls.

You're right about the drama queens! They are everywhere and the hater's are lined up miles long doing all they can to take Saban/Bama out by any means necessary.

I expect to UGA will get as many votes to win the SEC next year as Bama does.

I really wonder what was worse. 2013 with really shitty back to back losses or this recent championship loss? No, you don't want to be shamed in a national championship game but at least it WAS a national championship game. I remember how awful 2013 felt, it wasn't alot different than this.

The back to back kick six and oklahoma beating spelled the end of the dynasty as well and what happened? Enter lane kiffin and a reinvention of alabama football.

Also, despite this loss and everyone's gooey "stick to the sofa" excitement over it. Who in this conference is gonna beat us? Who has it in the pants?

I'll get worried when recruiting starts to dip. No doubt this is a critical off-season but it doesn't have to be the end. I trust Saban to figure it out. He has earned that right.

Besides we went 14-1. All but about three schools would mortage their souls for a season like that. Everyone needs to calm down.

If it's the end all you can do is tip your hat to Saban and thank him for what he did for the University.

But I think it's going to be the opposite. Saban will use this to learn, adapt and overcome like he has before.

Next season we have Tua and an embarrassing schedule. Why even suggest the dynasty is dead if it's a certainty we're going 12-0

Don't go into the SEC Rant. That place is full of the poor, broke and lonely fans of teams who are not relevant.

Where were you guys after we went 4-3 from the end of 2013 thru 2014. Auburn was the new king of football. The game had passed Saban by and the dynasty was dead.

A lot of things have changed in college football over the last 12 years. However, whether it was la monroe, Tebow 08, camback, kick 6, back to back ole miss losses or Clemson with 1 sec ; one dude has always gotten his arse off the canvas and proven why he is the mf goat.

Only people that should be worried are future opponents.

Clemson returns most of their offensive weapons, but their defense will be much worse. I don't see our lackluster defense improving enough to stop them cold next season, but our chances will be much better in a shootout with more experience all around offensively. That's assuming we get a competent OC to replace Locksley/Enos.

It is only over if Saban has lost his drive to be the best. If he has become complacent. I personally think the loss lit a fire under his arse but we will have to wait and see. I think I could coach next year's team to ten wins so a motivated Saban has us in the conversation and that's all you can really ask for. Some of you guys have really taken this loss unusually hard.

Don't agree with the premise that these are the last days, but if you're going to quote this Dylan Thomas poem, do it right...
