If Saban hires a great OC Milroe will win the Heisman next year.

I can’t wait to see his speed in a true RPO offense!

There's one huge assumption in that prediction.

Milroe will not be a Bama starter unless 4 others get hurt. He is not a D 1 QB. Other teams will stack the box as they will not respect the pass

Not sure Milroe can handle the P in that RPO even with a great OC. Needs to look at a position change.

Correct. Milroe looks like an awesome athlete that could play running back or wide receiver. He's not a high level SEC QB.

You guys are forgetting how much the RPO helps a QB pass. Milroe has a cannon. All he has to do is throw the ball deep to keep defenses from stacking the box. If he improves slightly as a short yardage passer he’ll be unstoppable with the 5 star talent we have around him.

I'm not a fan of QB's that aren't great passers. We have 5* RB's.

You’re assuming Milroe doesn’t improve. He’ll likely have an actual QB coach that understand current football next year instead of BoB who’s stuck in 2010.

I'm not doing the whole Hurts vs. Tua thing again. My bet is Milroe won't be the starter. If I'm wrong about that, then I'll worry about if he has become a better passer. All I know is I don't want to see Jeudy, Ruggs, and Smith running around out there again with a QB that is run first.

Are we on or off the Garrett Riley bandwagon after last night?

I’m not writing Milroe off based on his limited playing time this year. His passing accuracy and reads were absolutely FAR from upper tier FBS level but I’ve seen that from young Bama QBs thrown in for mop up/emergency situations before and I’ve seen them improve drastically and become quality QBs.
Milroe, Simpson, new guy - let them compete and drive each other. Will probably need multiple QBs over the course of a season anyway.

Don't disagree but we better hope we don't need multiple QB's next season. Another reason to get the new OC in place ASAP.

The forward pass seems to be an issue for him right now.

I see two huge assumptions: (New OC) and (Milroe starting). I am a huge Milroe fan. He looks like a cyborg - a machine. But I just don't know if he can make the progressions he needs to make

Our defense isn't up to standards, so we can't afford to use a one read QB like we did with Jalen.

Does he though? His arm never looked lively to me. It looks like he pushes the ball. Not sure on his measurables but pretty common among guys with smaller hands. I saw him badly underthrow some deep balls that looked like he loaded up on.
He is a very good athlete and would be a dangerous QB at a lower level, but his passing would have to drastically improve to be a star here. Blake Sims wasn't a great passer when he was young, but he did have great touch and accuracy by the time he graduated. Will Milroe stay long enough to see that come to fruition?
I can't even compare him to a young Jalen, because Jalen was scared to death to throw the football unless a receiver was open by 3 or 4 steps. Milroe has shown he will put it up for grabs.

His throwing motion looks like a shot put.

If only it was that easy.
