I love that coach DeBoer has full control like Saban had.

We obviously had the talent, but whatever we were doing schematically the last few seasons hasn’t worked. Saban told Byrne to give DeBoer full access and control like he had.

Austin Mack should be an excellent QB and DeBoer spoke highly of him when he committed.

We have not been a particularly well coached team in recent years, primarily due to questionable assistant coaches and apparently a malignant player culture in many ways.

This is not coping! Washington’s starting offense consisted of 3 sophomores on the OL and their starting receivers were 3rd year guys.

By the way, those 2 WRs are projected round 1 and 2 and their QB is a top 10 pick. Y’all need to relax and trust.

Maybe you guys that are freaking out about this should just sit it out and wait. Maybe pick up a new hobby. The rest of us are just going to sit back and trust the new coaches until there is reason for them not to be trusted.

This. Saban had run out of assistants.

That guy isn't freaking out. He starts stroking it any time there's bad news for Bama.

I love how me not wanting to return to the Shula years means I am not a Bama fan.

So I guess the guys who wanted Shula fired after probation ended were also trolls? How about the fans who said Perkins was a bad hire after Bryant? Were they all just trolls?

Freaking out at this point is both baseless and, more importantly, useless/counterproductive.

It's baseless because the new staff has had a week to do what they can. Every time there is head coaching turnover, the roster gets raided. That's life with NIL and the portal now. Yes, some of it could have been mitigated by basing the hiring process around keeping the current players happy, by hiring someone with more of a prior relationship with more of the roster. But that would have been incredibly short-sighted. We made what in my opinion is a much better long-term move by hiring a coach that has proven at every level he can put together a roster and coach the hell out of them to the tune of a 104-12 record.

It's useless because publicly freaking out does no good for anybody at this stage. It's not like the hire will be reversed, or the new staff will be fired because you bitch on a message board. And if that did happen, by the way, things would get WAY worse in the portal. All your bitching does is reveal how spoiled and insecure you are personally. And that insecurity is ok, but just calm the frick down and give the staff a chance - a chance they've earned with an incredible record.

Why are you here? Can you just put the keyboard down and live your life for a bit; Take a moment away from football? You seem miserable.

These are unprecedented [and I might add exciting] times. Saban is the goat but he couldn't keep coaching forever. Unlike Spurrier, Bowden and many others, Saban was the closest I've seen to leaving at his peak. But even he hasn't had the youth and energy he did 10 years ago.

That energy is back and I'm thrilled with the possibility of what could be.

100% agree. People freaking out about the transfers need to realize DeBoer lost 28 to the portal when he got to UW. It worked out alright for him. It’ll work out here.

We get it, dude. Everyday, multiple times per day, you negatively post shite about the hire, losing kids, TRob, etc.
regardless of what you think, the more you say shite will not alter what others think. Some people see doom and gloom. Others are optimistic and welcome the new challenges for bama football.
