The contested catch by Brooks?
What was contested about it?

Yeah it was like a 30+ yard TD. I think every program classifies that as an explosive.

If this goes sideways 6 games in to next year it may be 2026

I disagree that it’s an explosive play but I’ll concede it. Even still, it’s one play in the last few months.
Let me clarify. A play where a guy is open and can streak into the endzone. A play where a guy gets into space and takes it to the house from 30 or 40’yards out.

.a lot of it was just Penix throwing up tight contested throws and their WRs making great plays.
Pretty sure he has 2 quarterbacks on the roster that are as talented if not more talented than Penix. We also have some young receivers on the roster and this recruiting class that can make those kind of catches. Speaking of, Ryan Williams made a few nice catches tonight.

Things aren’t nearly as dire as everyone is making it out to be.
No, but being bad on the offensive line is a concern. It’s hard to have sustained success if your offensive line is bad every year.

I watch these games and every team has certain plays that are easy pitch and catch for decent yards. Every yard we get is a damn grind.
Very true!! Both QBs tonight have thrown some 3-5 yd passes that became chain movers, and we can’t do that for shite!!

I’m worried

When was the last time we had an explosive play for a TD?
Probably when milroe was here. Just kidding...
Seriously though, he improvised better than ty. Ty plays scared.

B) there’s a huge discrepancy in terms of the players you can recruit at UW vs Bama.
If we keep putting a product on the field like today, recruiting will go in the crapper.

Did you watch the two games where he beat Dan Lanning? He beat Dan Lanning twice, you know.

The inability of these coaches to scheme up any easy plays is crazy. I watch these games and every team has certain plays that are easy pitch and catch for decent yards. Every yard we get is a damn grind.
We don’t have a lot of quick twitch players . Our TEs catch balls on the flat and take 4 or 5 steps to “ get set” to try to get up field . Poor ball placement also plays a role . Look at the UGA /OM game .. our skill people are not like theirs . Our backs have no wiggle to them and lack speed. If we have a 3rd or 4th and 1yd to go… I have no faith we will get it

This staff puts inconsistent teams on the field and its a pattern of his coaching everywhere hes gone. His teams are mentally and physically inconsistent and that has shown in just his two years here. Get used to it. Its how he coaches.

Jam? Hill? Cuevas? Edwards? Horton? Ty? I’ll give you RW but we are not creative getting him the ball… Bernard is a possession type receiver
