Saban on how not playing in the CFP could affect Alabama's roster in terms of players potentially opting out: "I can't really speculate on that. I'm hopeful that players will see this as an opportunity to create value for themselves."

It's not about changing their decision for this year. It's about next year when they may be in the same spot.

Starters who are expected to opt out, or people who haven't played yet due to injuries or other circumstances?

And be half mentally there like they've been all year?

Awesome!

Bama boys play. We do not have tradition of players opting out. Hopefully we don’t turn into LSU.
Bryce and Anderson should definitely play. It’s the last time for them to wear the Alabama Uniform and go to war with their buddies.

In Saban's interview when asked about something to focus on doing better for next year, he talked about having a better relationship with players and getting them to focus on the present task at hand and not on external factors.

Sounds like we had guys focusing on their draft/NIL status instead of the next game again. Getting pretty old to hear of players not being focused.

I’m hoping our leaders (Bryce and Will) step up and affirm the standard that Nick has set. Finish.

Why?

How? They won't be here. I'd rather get experience for next year's team. A Sugar Bowl trophy means nothing and the only end of season ranking that matters is out of our reach.

Finishing is apart of the Bama Standard. We need our leaders to keep the tradition alive, this is Alabama football. I know it’s a much different era, but Imagine if we had massive opt-outs after the 2010 regular season. These young cats need to be reminded of who we are.

I’m not so sure. They weren’t that way when we played Michigan.

That team's identity wasn't being space cadets either.

Do you not recall the first half of that Citrus Bowl against Michigan? They were zoned out.

Agree. Character is the one trait a lot of these kids are missing today. Shooters shoot and those with characters issues sit out bowl games. Why not sit out against Austin Peay? Bama's practice squad could have won that game.

Bryce, Will, Gibbs, Battle, maybe a couple more defensive guys.

KSU will boat race us if all those folks sit. In fact, if you plan to sit out, leaving the team now would be the right answer.

Would be surprised if the top guys don't have injury insurance policies.

True but I don’t see any reason for Bryce and Will to play. They have everything to lose and nothing to gain.

We can see words like standard or whatever else but in reality it’s business, especially now and that would be a dumb business decision to play and risk losing a career

How many guys sat out in 2019? It was just Jeudy and Diggs, wasn't it?
