I think Dear ... the most talented back on our team IMO.

I don't disagree, but all coaches are going to have a problem putting a guy out there who doesn't show them that they understand their job every play. I feel like what we are seeing right now with Dear is kind of similar to Derrick Henry as a freshman (in no way am I saying Dear is Henry) in that he gets in and makes some splash plays, but his good runs are always bouncing it outside. Sometimes that's ok but a lot of times it's not. Also, do you know who to block in pass protection? Good way to get the QB killed or totally stall drives if not. We saw it with Saban and Henry and that guy was probably the best RB ever to come through the school.

They’re going to blitz the shite out of us. If we handle that, they’re toast.

Play as well on the road as at home. Bama can beat anyone, but they have to execute. The pass rush looked really good against Wisconsin. More of that and Bama will have a shot.

Do what FSU did to us. Beat them vertically at first, then get underneath East-West pickups. Jet sweeps, misdirections, counters.

On the other side of the ball, we absolutely have to have a pass rush of some kind. The secondary will benefit tremendously. And the linebackers have got to take advantage if/when Stockton gets put on his heels and stay disciplined in attacking the right gaps.

Yes!

That secondary gone be in for a rude awakening if Bama offensive line gives Ty Simpson enough time

Don't let UGA turn the game into a ground-and-pound fest. We've got to be successful with our passing game in hopes we can get adequate production from the running game. Ideally, we could make pop-out to a double-digit lead and keep the peddle down and force them to constantly have to play catch-up. Even if it's just a ten point lead, that would be enough pressure on them to start getting away from what they do best and that's ground and pounding you to death. We can't get into a game of body blows. They'll knock us out by the middle of the third quarter if the game turns into that.

Georgia is one of the few teams in cfb that still plays hard for a full 60 and never gives up. There is no quit in them. We better be ready for battle.

This is one thing I hope our coaches have figured out from year 1 to year 2. You’re right, UGA does not roll over and die in the third quarter. While it was hilarious at the time, I hated seeing Sheridan leave the booth against LSU last year with ~2 min left in the game - I don’t care how much we were up. Finish the job like a pro. Saban literally would have fired the guy on the spot.

However DeBoer wants to attack people deep and that has always been how to get a Smart defense. Take your chances with the one on ones

You aren’t wrong but I have my concerns with our offensive line holding up in pass pro on the road long enough for us to take those shots. Their communication and play on the road has left a lot to be desired the past couple of seasons.

So much of what DeBoer does is predicated on motions and resetting formations. You sorta have to have a road game offense in this league. Fewer motions, perhaps more predictable but also fewer moving pieces that can mess up and get you into even worse situations.

I spent so much time shaking my head at the defense that I didn’t pay attention to how we deployed the offense that much v. FSU. However, it was a bit of a problem last year.

I don't know how this game turns out. You guys have owned us and will until we prove different. That said, you can bet your life UGA is gonna be run heavy for 4 quarters. That's what they did against the Vols and that's what they are gonna do against you. Kirby still plays old style Saban smash you in the mouth football. He knows that by the 4th quarter it pays dividends. IMHO you guys have been soft against the run since KB got to Bama. It's the one chink in your armor, but it's a major chink for any team with a strong running game. Another area of concern is penalties. You guys aren't the most disciplined team and it's gonna be loud. Can't believe this but as loud as Rocky Top was we had NO false start penalties. That's the sign of a disciplined team. All said: We should win, I just don't know we will win given the history. That said: Looking forward to a good game with no injuries on either team.

I think it is easier to avoid false starts when you're running than passing. It's always a more jittery thing for the linemen to get the edge on protection than knowing they're just going to get their hands onto a guy at the snap.

I know some games are weird in the way they turn out. If we don’t make a dent in your run game i don’t see how we can win. If we are able to score well more of a slow shootout with the edge to UGA on clock control. Maybe having Tim back will help in the center.

Tennessee played well and except for a chip shot FG would have won. UGA DBs should be watching Williams pulling away from them all game
