I think BOB never truly tried to adapt the Alabama playbook all season long. He was stubborn at times and I think that TAMU and Georgia came cost us the game. What's weird is that Billingsley cost us the game in TAMU and Georgia.

Kind of feel the same way, but that's like the antithesis of a Saban OC hire, our "just run the ball" crowd would have to be put on some sort of self-harm watch, and some small part of me wonders if that style would be able to get it done against our top-most level competition.

Anyway, I'm not entirely convinced BOB is going to leave. Seems like his name has been linked to several openings, but I'm not sure how real any of that is outside of Jacksonville, and, to hear it from Jacksonville fans, he might not be the top pick there.

With the rushing stats we had in some games this year (6yds, 30 yds) we are about already there . If the run is there by all means do it. But in todays game you have got to be able to put up points and Saban realizes that

did Pearl complete his 3 year show cause penalty before Auburn hired him? Yes or no?

Yes, but for a second offense (and that is excluding Pearl's tampering/ tape doctoring in Deon Thomas' recruiting when Pearl was at Iowa) to get a two game suspension instead of, at minimum, another 3 year show cause means the NCAA is doing little to stop cheating these days, and whatever Pruitt has done at Tennessee, it will be nothing compared to Bruce Pearl's lifetime of cheating.

I look for him to end up as the OC at Carolina. Don't think he wants to come back even if Saban wanted him back (which I don't think he does)

I said when he and Marrone were hired that it was going to be a mistake.

I say give the job to AJ Milwee with Dan Mullen as an analyst to help along the way in case of a speed bump or growing pains.

The upside to this as well is that Jalen Milroe & Ty Simpson would be developed under AJ.

AJ, we get that you want to come back to Alabama. At this point, we really, really do.

Why is everyone in love with AJ Milwee? I don't think he is quite ready to be a OC.

People try to connect the dots whenever there's coaching turnover, yet those coaches who have ties to the program seldom get hired.

Eric Kiesau 2.0, the last "unknown" OC Saban hired was arguably McElwain. And even he had a lot of experience.

I think him being tutored by Sark, the positive reviews by players and other coaches, and his youth are the most attractive traits. He knows the "Alabama" offense and would be here for more than one year.

Just because he knows "Alabama", well liked by former players that was in program 2, 3 years ago... doesn't mean he's a good fit for the offense.

Since when Saban has brought in a OC that was "Alabama" man?

Andy Ludwig at Utah has shown pretty good balance as an OC at Utah. DO you hold the Vandy years against him? I dunno but you can't make chicken salad out of chicken shite. His attack at Utah has given everyone fits in the Pac 12 and he took OSU to the brink of upset. We could do worse.

Nah, Saban just don't need to miss on this hire because it could set us back.

If you think it's critical that we hire a good OC, why are you so insistent on hiring someone who would come with a massive amount of risk?

If we can get to the NC game with BOB, I feel confident a lot of OCs will be successful here. Mac taught the offense to BOB and I am sure Bryce will do the same if a new hire is made . Have a few preferences as do a lot of people but the OC having to be replaced does not stress me at all. Saban will get a good one

I agree. I'm not saying there's only a handful of guys who could get the job done. Quite the opposite. Lots of guys can look good calling plays with a QB like Bryce. Which is why I don't understand why anyone would be beating the drum for a dude whose entire history as a playcaller is at Akron. Someone with that little experience is like the only kind of OC hire that could go horribly wrong besides someone like Mullen or Herman who could end up being extremely toxic.
