Yeah, at this point.... We'll have to accept that he is staying on as OC.

I get it... We wanted him gone so bad that we wanted to believe the rumors. Truth may actually be that nobody else wants coach boob either. You have to think that Saban is tired of finding coaches and would rather train up boob over finding another one.

We'll find out soon.

in a lot of games this year with the offense if the OL had performed at a higher level we'd probably see a lot less griping about BoB.

My question is who is responsible for the blocking assignments on the plays that BOB is calling? The next time I see our right tackle block down while our left guard pulls to try to block the free right defensive end on a pass (getting Bryce blown up), my head is going to explode.

Does the OL coach set up the blocking assignments on these plays or the OC? There were a lot of times where defenses had free shots at Bryce due to poor blocking schemes.

Boz was right the whole time. REC got Pete lit and sent him driving home… the only clean way to get Golding out of town without paying him anything.

Bravo, Boz.

ETA: Never specified that he would get another job or get fired. Just that he wouldn’t be DC

Ole Pete is a red eye jedi. He definitely had a good time.

When did Boz say Golding was leaving? Certainly not in his OP here.

About 2 years ago. Then the thread was mysteriously deleted.

Back to the orginal topic:
Doug Marrone is headed to Saints as key role offensive staff.

Many disagree, but I didn't think BOB was that bad. I was puzzled at times by his situational playcalling, but isn't that standard? Kiffin used to get ripped on these boards for the same thing and now everyone thinks he's a genius. Marrone was the one that ABSOLUTELY had to go. The OL regressed so badly.

Totally agree. I think another year of Bryce and BOB together is actually going to be a great thing, I'm sure it took a long time last year for both to get acclimated. The same thing happened to even Sark when he arrived, jumping back to college from the NFL is sometimes not easy.

I'm more worried about the OL than anything else, if it wasn't for historically bad OL play under Saban and poor execution in BOBs situational playcalling, everyone would want him back.

If Nick wasn't happy with BoB then he would be gone just like Doug. Hell we played with only 10 men on offense because you can't count #19.

Jay Bilas was talking yesterday about college coaching. He and another guy both were discussing how difficult the college coaching job is now with NIL and the portal. They said these college coaches want out, and the cherished job is the nfl. They get to go home in the off season.

And as far as our coordinators, when we get a new one, they have to learn our offense and our terminology, and have to learn the players and what works with our players. So its a process with the new coaches. Plus, Saban has stated that he did not like Ga being the more physical team in the NC game. So our emphasis will probably be more toward that on both sides of the ball.

But we were told 2 years ago that Saban wanted Golding gone, but couldn’t get rid of him. Or find a good replacement.
