The only person denying reality here is you. I don't know if you're a troll or if you're just plain stupid but anyone who watched both Bama and Auburn play yesterday and thought Auburn looked like the better, tougher team is either an Auburn fan or a gibbering idiot.

The thing that really disturbed me yesterday was how our reworked OL allowed so much penetration on running plays. There were ECU defenders in the backfield almost every play. The pass pro was acceptable a good portion of the game, except for blitz pickups, but the run blocking was atrocious. Our backs ran well and picked up yards when they managed to avoid the penetration and find a crease. There were also a couple of times when our new center and right tackle got manhandled and pushed back into the backfield by ECU. If ECU is able to do that, what will an SEC DL do to them? We’ve still got a lot of work to do up front and I’m not 100% sure we have the right personnel up there.

The game was almost universally good IMO. Everything looked great.

Williams is still a head case and we had way too many sloppy penalties. I don't think the first problem can be fixed but the second can.

Kentucky usually has a pretty good DLine too. We won't know how good the ECU win is until we watch them play a few teams, but I know they hyped the offensive power of ECU before the game and they were completely shut down but for one drive. Defense will certainly keep is the tight games, but our OL has some work to do

Look man.

When you say or imply Aubruns is better than Bama. That's going to piss off anyone including me on this board.

To your point yes we know we could be better in certain areas. Yes the trend seems to be consistent with lack of improvement.
We all know CKD is the dude following the dude so the outcome will be mediocre and he is basically filling in and filling the void.
It's a fairly critical role unfortunately due to NIL and portal. Every year of mediocrity does have an impact on our Bama brand and erosion. And you look around the other teams to realize that it takes years of misery to climb back out. (Or in certain cases like GA or LSU that you can hit on the right combo and bounce upwards quickly). We/Bama are fortunate we haven't hit rock bottom...yet. But the trend does point downwards due to the CKD fit.
But regardless of all this shite I just posted we always better than Auburn ...

Auburn - what a joke. Lucked out vs a wretched Baylor team. Brown with 3 ints out of 30+ passes. Bama will probably have 2 NOTs and 35+ pts in AU’s house of horrors:: BDS. AU has won there once 15 years ago, via fluke. They not only always lose but it has been by double digits every time. Frequently a 20+ beat down. “Panty-waist” DeBoer is 2-0. Looking forward to running the streak to 7 vs your inept stumbling, bumbling program.

Again, AU squeaked out a win vs Baylor in their home away from home Atlanta - Baylor had to fly halfway across the country. Pathetic Baylor’s 4th loss in a row. 55k the reported attendance in the 75k stadium - looked like less than that. Nobody cares about the 3rd tier SEC school. AU will have trouble stopping their streak of 5 consecutive losing seasons.

You’ve got to be a troll, no one can be that stupid.

You sound like an abject fool, especially regarding AU. We just assume you are a troll, otherwise, we’ve rarely encountered someone so stupid. Maybe, and hopefully, you’re not a moron, but you sound like one. The verdict appears close to unanimous.

You’re an idiot. They were wrongly left out of the playoff in 2024 and made the SECC game and playoff last year and won the first road game in the history of the playoff. The coaching staff did a great job winning 11 games without a running game or deep passing threat. Ty was NFL level in the short and mid game and bad with the deep ball.

I hate Auburn.. but watching them against a higer tiered team compared to Bama playing a mid FBS school.. yes, AU looked tougher to me.. I most definitely hate to say that about Auburn.. Then comparing Bama to LSU, TX and GA.. it was bad..

Pretty obvious LSU troll allowed to post to drive traffic.

On one hand you criticize Alabama's opponent using that as a way to minimize their victory. On the other hand you ignored UGA played an HBCU and Texas played a team on ECU level.

Yep. This place has lost its charm. It shouldn't be hard to find another message board.

Hurr durr I got an idea, let’s go say that Auburn looked great in a win that they won in spite of themselves against a bottom tier P4 conference opponent.

BTW Bama's left tackle, right tackle, and right guard all graded out as top 5 in the nation this week for those of you freaking out about the O-line play.

They were what I would call less than 1” from losing that game.

Fantastic breakdown. FGN likes Delgatty and wants more playtime for Meadows.

Understanding that 2026 isn't 2025, it's important to get a bit of perspective on which teams were / were not meaningful competition for top teams.

FEI rankings for each from 2025:

East Carolina (played Bama) - 55th
Boise State (played Oregon) - 63rd
Western Michigan (played Michigan) - 71st
Texas State (played Texas) - 82nd
Fresno State (played USC) - 85th
Stanford (played Miami) - 88th
Marshall (played Penn State) - 93rd
Oregon State (played Houston) - 118th
Ball State (played Ohio State) - 132nd

Alabama thumping East Carolina is the most impressive thing no one is talking about. They had an SEC caliber front last year and may again this year.

Oregon struggling with Boise State should be just as alarming as Michigan with Western Michigan (moreso given Oregon's ranking).

Miami is getting too much hype for the Stanford game, given that Stanford is quite possibly (even likely) a worse team than, say, Texas State.
