yep, when we had 4th and 1 or 2 on Michigan, Milroe didnt snap the ball on the ground. He didnt call the play. He wasn't the right Tackle that got knocked under the quarterbacks feet by a Michigan 3 star 230 pound transfer student.
There's a whole lot of other stuff he didn't do too.

I said I didn't WANT to, not that I could stop myself. It would be easier if everyone would just admit I'm right.

I think a year of experience will help him and he will be better. Lots of players get better over the course of their careers. Hopefully our offense is tailored to his strengths and we try to highlight those from the get-go this year.
Also, I will point out that any threads discussing Milroe are bound for shitshow status unless he leads us to an undefeated season and wins the Heisman trophy. Even then some will probably continue to shite on him.

Milroe won SEC Championship MVP, 6th in the Heisman, and took Alabama to the playoffs. I think he had done enough for Deboer to see him as the guy. If he wasn't capable of running the offense I assume he wouldn't be starting tomorrow.
Thank you.
It's crazy to read some of the speculation on here regarding Milroe. The guy was accomplished enough despite BoB telling him to change positions and then Rees as his OC last year. If that situation wasn't bad enough, the Center couldn't even snap him the ball properly. There has been way too much hate placed on this guy.
I like Ty Simpson a lot, I think he'll be the guy next year but acting like DeBoer came in and just gave Milroe the job without evaluating him or acting like he's on a short leash is kind of insane. That's just bias showing.

Probably not. But, you don't have to read things you don't like.
Scholars and historians would probably suggest that you specifically try to read and understand what you don't like. But, we're just dumb football fans, so that doesn't have to apply to us.
I'm all for Milroe looking great and winning the Heisman. I just think he has to show a lot of improvement over last year. And, I definitely think he will be improved. He could even be great. See, we're all on the same team.

but my gut tells me that we're all going to underwhelmed by what we see this season.
i gotta say... i'm on the other side of that. i'm ready to be disappointed, but i'm low-key pretty optimistic.

I'm old. I was too young to really remember the Bryant years. I suffered through some bad times, had some good times, and then some really bad times before Saban arrived. So, I'm probably a little less inclined to believe we'll just dominate for eternity than some younger fans are. That said, I don't see us falling off a cliff soon. But, I do worry about a gradual decline. But, that might just be the worrier in me. Because, I do think Deboer was a great choice.
Despite my criticism of last years Milroe, I'm not really too worried about the offense. They're going to put up points. I think the defense is a bigger unknown. We might not need them to be great, but they can't be BAD either

It's a game, in the end.
We don't have the GOAT. That's ok. The entire sport has changed. The whole sport is new. Our coach is new. We have always been Alabama. We always will be Alabama. I'm in my early 40s. Grew up in Tuscaloosa. Alabama football means as much to me as anyone.
I can say honestly in front of God himself, if we has stayed locked in the Dubose/Shula era forever, I would never have stopped being a Bama fan.
So, then? So what. Win or lose, Alabama the program, has always been what mattered. It has always been silently bigger than Bryant/Saban. Because WE are Bama.
Anyway. As far as I'm concerned, of course we won't have the same caliber dynasty. I would be SHOCKED if that type of dynasty will ever happen again with the new format. Maybe people said that before the last quantum leap, of which we are a part. But the new format (NIL/huge play offs, super conferences etc etc)... it's gonna be hard to dominate as long.
DeBoer is as good of a coach as we could have hoped to have gotten... as far as we can tell si far. We will start to learn what we have this year. But we won't REALLY know what we have in Coach DeBoer for a few years, if we go about this correctly. And we will.
The program was left in GREAT shape. We remain objectively a top 5 program, period. We still have Sabans support, and probably more than most appreciate at this time. But in all reality, we averaged a natty every 3+ years under Saban. That just ain't likely to happen. That's fine.
Everything has changed. Bama fans are #1. Idgaf what ANYONE says. We are the most loyal fans on EARTH. WE are Alabama.

He's not going to be any better at worst. At best he is serviceable and hits 10 wins an maybe playoff win
