F....I was just talking to the S.O last weekend about plans to make that game in Morgantown. Always wanted to see a game there.

Seeing a WVU vs Pitt game in Morgantown is on my bucket list

Same. Much rather play those WVU games than an extra game with A&M or Kentucky or Missouri or Vandy.

We need to cancel every single remotely challenging OOC.

The B1G killed competitive OOC match-ups. No point in subjecting ourselves to tougher matchups and then getting punished at the end

Sucks. I would’ve made that drive for sure

Felt like that one was a goner because WVU had allegedly already been having cold feet. So when Alabama offered they were probably not just a yes but a hell yes.

I took my son up there years ago on a college visit. Really weird campus in that most of the campus is literally carved into side of a huge mountain. People were super nice.

I guess my only thought his with 9 games instead of getting two really good opponents, we will see one good team and two fcs. I’d love to find a balance between not having an overwhelming schedule that all but guarantees you’ll miss playoffs and giving the fans games they actually want to stay at. Don’t get me wrong my son and I travel once a year usually to the game before Auburn so we’re not season ticket holders but it would still be nice have entertaining games as well.

I also wonder if the administration has gotten word about our three permanent opponents and that spurred the move as well.

Huge disappointment because I only live about an hour and a half from Morgantown. I'd been looking forward to that game for years

I'll still be at the Columbus game though (so long as it still happens)

I doubt it. I always felt like Saban scheduled that game intending for 2026 to be his final year. Obviously that's no longer a thing, and I assume they wanted something that would generate more interest

But thats not the normal reality.
That 9th game against Kentucky will replace a Chattanooga or Kent State. Much improvement, IMO.

Are you sure? We’ve just seen evidence that it will replace the second big OOC game we have scheduled. I’m sure that 9th SEC game will be cancelling Oklahoma St, Arizona, etc in the future while the FCS game will still be on the schedule.

How often have we ever had a "second big OOC game"?
Our schedule, for decades, has always been 1 decent OOC game, and 3 patsies of the likes of Mercer, The Citadel, and Southern Miss.
You cannot deny this.

Until yesterday when we canceled WVU we had two big OOC games on the schedule each year (starting this year) through 2036 I believe it was. That’s an actual fact that cannot be denied.

I would have moved forward with it, Alabama isn't scared of playing West Virginia.

As long as we play at OSU and ND still I will be happy. Will definitely attend those two games.

Thank god they cancelled this game. We need to find a way out of the one at Ohio State now
