I don’t think that’s the reason. I think it’s because a lot of these so called draft experts don’t really evaluate the players or have much clue what the team scouts actually think. They just put Bama players up there just because Bama. So essentially it’s brand recognition and measurables.

Mock drafts as a whole this far out are complete crapshoots.

Deep pool next year too, if the 2020 Juniors all leave. Chase, Ross, Waddle just to name 3.

But it's not as deep as this class. This class is all kinds of ridiculous. There as many as 8 guys who would contend as the #1 WR overall in a normal year. Bama has 2 of them, maybe 3 if Devontae runs in the 4.3s.

Here is the thing. Moses is arguably the only ilb worth a first round pick in this entire draft. The position is really thin this year. It would be an excellent year for him to go.

Only other guy is maybe Isaiah Simmons, but a lot of guys think he is an olb at the next level.

This is bogus. I follow the draft heavily, even scout a little bit here and there for fun. I follow both expert and novice mocks and rankings.

Learherwood is borderline first round, he is at worst the 5th best tackle in this draft, and his versatility to play rt, lt, and guard help him tremendously.

It's hard to really say, his talent level is absolutely first round. He plays with strength, bend, and has excellent swim, spin, bullrush, and rip moves Uses his hands well too. Health and lack of tape knocks him down.

Is absolutely a first rounder, without a doubt. 1000%. He is probably the 3rd WR off the board, behind Jeudy and Lamb. He may pass Lamb if Lamb runs a slow 40(dude isn't fast), and Ruggs runs under 4.25. Which is possible.

It is easily possible that all of them do go in the first round. Along with Wills, Jeudy, Tua...etc.

Devontae is going to be a first rounder too, imo. He has the best hands, is the best against press coverage, runs excellent routes, wins 50/50 balls. Unless he runs an abysmal 40, which he won't, he is a first rounder.

I agree that mocks are a crapshoot a lot of the time. But the better draft analysts take a pretty simple approach. Identify each teams greatest need and then mock the best player at that position to them. Problem is a lot of teams put out a ton of disinformation about what they intend to do. Also teams vary wildly on their player evals a lot of the time. But to day categorically that leatherwood, McKinney, moses, etc. are in no way 1st round picks is a stretch.

I didn’t say they would definitely not be first round picks but every year we have less guys going as high as they are projected this far out. I highly, highly doubt they would all be first round picks. Some of them will drop.

Just depends on what their priorities are. Its possible, not likely, that they don't want to go out like this. Maybe they want to come back and try to win a title. Who knows.
