Andre never gave a reason, but said it was not due to an agent. He just informed the Team that he might have committed a NCAA infraction and the team decided not use him for the Bowl game. Don't think we ever learnt what the infraction was but he categorically said it was not due to an agent.

I recall Jeffery Simmons getting through his 3 years at Miss State just fine and then he blew out his knee getting ready for the NFL draft. Stuff happens.

I remember that’s what Smith said.. but people close to the situation said he and his family had to turn over phone records due to phone contact with an agent.. I don’t think we will ever really know what happened there.

McKinney is absolutely a first rounder. He has a pretty good shot at going top ten, willing to bet some teams have him over Delpit at this point.

Ruggs lacks polish a bit but his speed will get him in the first round. We've seen worse players go early for the same reason (Ross and Fuller come to mind).

I think Lewis's stock depends a lot on his combine performance/medicals. He's shown first round flashes and it's a fairly thin edge class so he could make it in. Regardless, I don't see how anyone could blame him for leaving considering his injury luck so far.

Mack was mocked as a first rounder based on his sophomore year, which was very good. By the time "draft season" came around after his junior year, he was rightfully dropped out of first round projections. He was a complete afterthought by that point by anyone worth listening to.

Easy to say when you're not the one having to risk millions of dollars.

Apparently I look at Bowl games differently than most, but I don’t feel like a player should sit out because of fear of injury, I think players should sit out simply because cfb bowl games outside of the playoff don’t mean jack shiit.

The seasons over, you got your asss whipped, and you didn’t make the playoff. Tip your cap to the 4 teams that made it, and take your asss home.

Diet, train, & practice so you better prepare yourself next season. But please God don’t play in a meaningless bowl game, pour Gatorade on your coach because you finished 7th place, and accept a fake trophy. My God what an embarrassment.

You won't because it's not happening.

Part of making those millions of dollars contains risks along the way.

But not taking unnecessary risks. This bowl game is not going to change their draft status unless they get injured.

I think 2010 bowl game helped a few players who were coming off injuries get better draft grades.

You won't hear anything officially before the early signing period and might not hear anything until mid Feb.

Yup, I bet it depends on who Saban thinks that he can get as a replacement behind the scenes

Bowl game might mean nothing but the bowl prep and practices are huge for development of younger guys on the team. It's like having a second fall camp.

That’s the point. Eight of our players being mocked in the first round at this juncture is absolutely meaningless (and it won’t happen). It will be 3-4 first rounders at most.

I think those guys were in a much different situation than many of our guys today that are considering sitting out, but guys like Julio, Ingram, etc. didn't improve their stock because of the bowl game.

Maybe they enjoyed getting one more win with their teammates?

I'm sure they did. Still wasn't a smart decision.
