On the road. In the swamp.

We survived an off game. I think people need to calm down.

We should rewind to see what we were all saying after the Ole Miss game last year.

Honestly, the biggest positive of the struggle win is the bloated confidence all these other teams will have. If Bama gets disciplined and realizes what they need to work on to improve, the struggle win early in the season might be the best thing to happen to them. We’ll see. Trying to think positive here.

We were a couple of plays from blowing them out and maybe making there offense have to go full pass mode the second half.
1.Bryce should have ran in a td.
2.In Same possession B Rob did not follow 45 left on the I formation 1st & goal.It was the same call he scored standing up on another play from the 4 yrd line.He decided to not follow that block and ran inside.

3.Again biggest drop was metchie's deep pass that bryce threw on the move.We punch that in before half and its 28-3 offsetting Fla getting the second half kickoff.

4 Bryce thew behind Metchie on a slant that he maybe scores from 40 yrds out if he hits him in stride.
A lot of bryce balls were a just a second off.

The 99 yard drive swung the game momentum to start the second half.Again this rebuilt offensive unit with a need to get better at right tackle, get another wr to step up, Bryce first tough sec road challenged almost could have blown out the number 11 team in the nation.

There are legitimate concerns that people have with our team right now but I more or less agree with you. I think there are many of us who aren't accustomed to our regular season games coming right down to the wire.

I don't see anyone who is on the level of Smith/Waddle/Najee that just explodes. Maybe Williams......we have a lot of talent but they are young and inexperienced. Bryce is very good but he has a lot of room for improvement.

reminds me of last ears Ole Miss game where we got gashed all game and looked terrible. Hopefully we pull it together before we see those guys again. I am confident we will.

The defense needs to improve quickly. I'm starting to believe that Moody should get serious playing time at linebacker. Henry T. was out of position a lot yesterday and Moody is much more sound. Not sure why Latu and Billingsley weren't targeted more yesterday. Those guys are mismatches.

Yes, and on defense there were two huge plays where we could’ve blown it open as well:

1. On 4th and 6, near midfield, UF throws deep, it’s a bad pass and unlikely to be caught, but we get flagged for PI because Jobe had his hands all over the Gator WR. Jobe’s a good CB but he’s the ‘handsiest’ one on the team (he led us in PIs last year). UF scores on the next play, I think. We were up 21-3 at the time and holding them there might’ve broke their will…

2. On 3rd and 10 with UF inside their own 1, Hellams is in perfect position to stop the play short of the first down but I still can’t figure out what he was doing. The RB catching the ball’s back is to him and all Hellam has to do is hit the dude and he’s 3 or 4 yards short of the first down. But Hellams plays the ball instead of the receiver, misjudges it, and the RB runs right by him. Instead of a three and out, it’s a 99-yard TD drive…

As Saban noted, we were plagued by mental mistakes that game…

PFF said he was the most penalized CB in the country. He was also the first Bama CB since they started tracking CFB that hit double digit penalties

Last year was the toughest challenge because of all the challenges the team had to deal with.

Defense is out of shape. Gassed in the 2nd quarter. Even if the offense went three and out three consecutive times there is no excuse for being gassed in the 2nd quarter. The players are the best off the best. Assistants need to earn their pay and coach these guys better than that on defense. Saban can’t do everything by himself. Assistant coaches need to be coaching that defense better. No excuses.

Yeah…frustrating thing is, Jobe rarely gets outright burned, he’s usually in good position, but he uses his hands so much he gets flagged a lot. Sometimes the PI calls are ticky-tack but if there’s a doubt and you’ve got your hands all over the guy, you’re gonna get flagged 90% of the time.

And to make it really sting on that PI call, the sideline judge (who was right there) didn’t throw the flag, it was the back judge who was much further away…

Hopefully this game was our Ole Miss game from last year and will be a wake up call.
Interesting to see how we play from here.
That call on Jobe was total BS; he barely touched him. It was actually a terrific defensive play.

I’d say HT is worse. But Harris has been in the system for 2+ years now. Still has some of the same issues he did as a freshman.

Jobe has a reputation with the officials. There's no doubt. They flag him every chance they get. Armour-Davis was solid yesterday at least from what I saw. He had the interception. I do wonder if we see more of Kool Aid and Marcus Banks this week like we did against Mercer. This will be the week to see if we try some new players at certain positions.

Totally different types of challenges. I was more focused on the actual football aspect of the season, not all the outside disturbances within the country.

I’ll be shocked if they’re still near the top 10 by seasons end. Georgia and LSU will most likely beat them, and if they stay that one dimensional they’ll struggle with UK and Mizzou.

That game had no business being that close, but it was and it was probably the best thing for the team long term. The safeties and LBers were abused all day and I’d rather that come against a mediocre Florida offense than against Ole Miss or Arkansas. They’ll figure it though.

UGA sure. UK maybe. But what the hell has either LSU or Mizzou shown you to be so confident that they’ll beat Florida? LSU’s defense is trash and their OL is horrible. They can’t run the football much. Florida will run all over them and has a pretty good pass rush that can affect LSU’s pocket passing QB just like UCLA did. Yes I know what happened last year, but I doubt Mullen will overlook them this year again.

Mizzou sucks too. Their defense is horrible.

I think they finish fringe ranked at worst if not 10-2 and top 10.
