Deer antler spray works wonders. We must be buying it by the tanker truck full.

@AaronSuttles: Alabama roster tidbit: Freshman defensive lineman Anfernee Jennings is enrolled in school but due to an injury is not on the 105-man roster.

I think they'll be able to add him to the final roster before the season

Alabama practice report: An early look at the offensive line

TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama continued preseason practice with its second of 28 workouts before the season opener versus Wisconsin in Arlington, Texas. Today, we focused on the offensive line to get a feel for who is lining up where.
Here are some takeaways:

--The first offensive line group has carried over from spring practice. From left tackle to right tackle: Cam Robinson, Ross Pierschbacher, Ryan Kelly, Bradley Bozeman and Dominick Jackson.

On Thursday, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said the team would focus on getting the five best players out there before worrying about continuity so don't be surprised if this group changes.

--The second offensive line group from left tackle to right tackle: Korren Kirven, Isaac Luatua, J.C. Hassenauer, Alphonse Taylor and Brandon Greene.

--Some freshmen offensive line notes: Brandon Kennedy took reps at center, Matt Womack lined up at right tackle, Richie Petitbon was at right guard, Lester Cotton worked at left tackle and Dallas Warmack was at left guard.

--On Thursday, Saban said cornerback Tony Brown worked with the 2s, but Brown was once again at the front of the line opposite Cyrus Jones during the media's viewing period. It's worth noting that things can change once reporters leave the field. Still, Brown appears to be poised for a big role barring something unforeseen.

--Defensive end Jonathan Allen still appears to be dealing with a shoulder injury. Allen wore a big brace on his left shoulder and had to get extra tape at one point.

--Add defensive lineman Darren Lake to the list of guys who really transformed their bodies this offseason. Lake appears to be in great shape.

--Denzel Devall and Ryan Anderson are the first two outside linebackers through drills followed by Tim Williams and Rashaan Evans. Saban said Thursday that Evans should have an impact on the team in a situational role. The good thing about having a guy like Devall is that he can play both outside linebacker spots.

Devall has been underwhelming since his freshman year. Anderson took a step last year. I think our starting 4 LBs in base defense should Evans at Jack, Lee at Sam, Foster at Mike, and Ragland at Will and always on the field every play like CJ Mosley.

When we play LSU and Arkansas and UGA I don't think Devall and Anderson at Sam and Jack would be an idea to help stuff the run. But when we play A&M, UT, Ole Miss, State, and the barn I think we should play Evans and Williams more. LSU can be tricky though. They love to run but that QB run they have is not bad. Would maybe need to be situational every down against them. Auburn too

I don't think Grant Hill plays another down as it stands now.

Crazy that if Grant Hill leaves, we will have lost nine players from the 2013 recruiting class before their junior year. That doesn't include JUCO Leon Brown.

How confident would you be if Brandon Greene or Korren Kirven started at LT vs Wisconsin?

If that is true, frick it. You can almost mark it up as a lost year. I've been worried he seemed injury prone.
