If we are struggling at OL, is it a possibility we bring back Kam Dewberry? I havent kept up with the latest court rulings

He was not a good player and wouldn’t provide an upgrade.

He did say the DL was playing really well so it could be that scenario.
I personally am just sitting back and waiting to see.
I think we have a solid defense, good WR’s and a good QB problem.

I expect this early in camp. The problem the last two years wasn't how they played in camp, the problem was they never got better. Saban had several NT offensive lines that looked like hot garbage 2 weeks into the season but they improved incrementally as the season went on. They have to find a way to change the trajectory upward.

All the reports say AK was having a great scrimmage and had scored a TD before getting injured. I doubt any RB has a great practice if the OL was terrible. Were they maybe not totally cohesive and overall subpar? Probably, it’s the first scrimmage.
FWIW, I once sat at midfield and watched Nudie get his knee blown out against Western Kentucky because Fluker missed a block off the edge. Even the great ones have their struggles early in the season.

You're probably right. But we are fans, it's fall camp with only tidbits getting out. We are doing the time honored thing by pointing to the sky and letting you know it is falling.

Somewhat true for a few reasons. Early in camp especially, guys are having to brush up on fundamentals. Tackling isn’t as sharp. They just started going to the ground this week. And as the scrimmage goes on and guys get tired, mistakes happen and sometimes it leads to injury. Sometimes just bad luck.

I was sitting in the club seats in the south end zone with all the students directly behind me when Nudie got hurt. I was watching the play through binoculars and knew on impact he was done. We were sitting right next to the ESPN camera guy. His shot of the play was the same as mine, but I had a much closer view. We were up 28-0 with most of the starters still in the game. Coaches doing that will be a debate as old as time. But Saban won seven championships and apparently took much neater team pictures I hear. So I guess I should defer to his judgment.

I was very fortunate to be invited by family of some of the staff to be a guest for that game, so I got to do the whole field pass thing pregame and we were in the red chair backs close to the field during the game. I just remember seeing Nudie pound the training table after they brought him over, and poor DJ was just beside himself. I remember thinking “it’s always in these games…”

Sanders was average at best last year, yet he is still on the 1st team.
The Bama vs UGA September game from last season was on TV a couple of times this week. I don't believe you will get Bama coaches to extend money to 71.

On the clips I saw of 17 running the ball there were some decent holes.
The running game will be helped by having a QB like Keelon back there anyways. His arm will keep linebackers back.

It's definitely easier to run against cover 2 than it is against a single high safety.
I think both Mack and Russell want to drive the ball to the deep part of the field. If they can get the defense to keep another safety back then it allows Grubb to play more of his formation games.
Ideally we would have RCW playing a Desean Jackson type of role on one side and Morgan/Meadows doing a Mike Evans impression on the other side. Make the defenses commit to defending that deep part of the field and the running game will open up.
