Sitting in the endzone it did not appear we got much of any push the entire game in pass rush with 3/4.

Green going out had a significant effect on our run defense, though. We pretty much brick walled the front until then, only got beat a few times when creased. Once he went out, they started finding A gap space.

Believe it's max 15 yards in college.

Correct, not a spot foul in college.

15 yards and automatic first down…I think. Puts us in FG range and four more downs. No guarantees but that’s huge.

Yep, I had that wrong.

Regardless, it's so silly reading about how it didn't matter because UGA's backup RBs ran for 200 or whatever but completely ignore that if we get the proper flag call, it's Bama with a fresh set of downs around the UGA 20 with 3 and change on the clock.

Also, anyone that brings up the "well you shouldn't have gotten sacked the next play" can eat a big bag of dicks too.

We had the ball at the 35 on the first drive of the game and got 0 points.

We had the ball at midfield after a punt and got 0 points.

We had the ball at the 25 after an interception and got 0 points.

We had chances and we blew them. It is what it is.

- Zulu and J Hill both being out is forcing Pierre and Thompkins to play every down

- Obviously this is hurting their pass rush, but people don’t take into account how much it affects the run game as well.
They take 1 or both of them out for a snap or two, and the ball breaks into the 3rd level.

- I was high on K Henry, and he does have a solid burst/“ball get off” rushing the passer, but he was straight up the field and got got kicked out once on Power and once on Counter for explosive runs

- This was a major concern going into the MSU game, but they did a good job of not allowing them to stay on the field and wear #1 and #0 out of

- In the first half when T Green was still in the game and #1 and #0 had had in the tank, Georgia only had 49 yards rushing

- Really hoping to get Hill and Green back soon

- That’s why the 3rd and 17 and 3rd and 22 that #5 gave up were absolutely killers bc not only did it lead to all 10 points in the 2nd half, but it also allowed Georgia to extend the drives and take 5-6 more minutes off the clock as well.

Reallllly need J Hill and T Green back and #5 to be replace with C McDonald imo

Yes, Bama had the ball across the 50 so many times and they just sputtered out. Besides the penalties, the main difference in this game was the situation was just a little too big for Russell right now and we didn't produce enough of a running game to take any pressure off him. Thats something Grubb is known for. Putting the majority of the offensive game on the QBs shoulders.

the thing that irritated me about the defense was, it looked like our lbr's reverted back to the last two years. they kept getting caught up in all the trash of their own making. as soon as uga snapped the ball they took off towards the los getting trapped out of position.

Did we not?

This was our first possession of the 2nd half:

And our second:

On our 3rd and final possession of the 2nd half, we only ran the ball once. No gain on 1st down.

So on our first possesion of the 2nd half, we run the ball the first 2 plays, and Brown get 14 yards on those two plays.

We didn't run the ball again that possession besides a dumb jet sweep to Rico Scott for 2 yards, not including Russell's scrambles.

on the second possession we ran the ball 4 times, and well enough to get the offense in 3rd and short or at least 3rd and manageable.

I think that we ran the ball well enough to help Russell.

At the end of the day, the defense giving up long, time consuming drives due to 3rd down conversions made it to where they really had to take advantage of every opportunity on offense because of so few possessions. And they didn't.

Just a matter of how you look at it I guess. I look at it that we didn't score enough or maintain possession after having great field possession all night.

You look at it as we didn't stop them when we needed to....The only way Georgia gets those yards is we didn't maintain possession in the first place; OR if we had scored more points, Georgia would have been forced to risk more dynamic plays.

Without putting another man in the box or getting Green and Hill back we aren’t stoning their run game.

We had the #3 adj rush defense in the country in YPC but without half the guys that achieved that we don’t anymore.

Our DL without them is functional, it’s not elite and Pierre is clearly not 100% either.

Reality is we need the offense to be elite if we’re gonna beat UGA and we weren’t anywhere close to it Saturday but I’m in storm recovery down here so I don’t have the time to deep dive on it.

The good part is, we will eventually get these guys back and should be good to go. Hell having any group back and we probably beat UGA. More pressure on the QB etc. Even as the team sits with the injuries we beat most anybody.

The issue is we have some losable games on the schedule before we anticipate getting those guys back and the injuries are piling up.

Alabama has to find a way to win the next two weeks and get a bye without any more significant injuries. If they can do that then I think they can make a run at it.

They also did not read their fits. QB actually had a pretty poor game in the little time he saw.

This. No more big injuries and get our healed up and it can a damn strong run through the regular season. I no longer care about the sec champ. If it happens cool. If not cool. Then a rest and bring on the playoffs
