Did you guys ever notice Saban never wore his wedding band on the sideline during games?

I never mentioned it because I thought maybe it was for luck etc. Now that he's retired I was wondering why he didn't.

Even though you're on the sidelines you still are in an active situation where it could get caught on equipment players etc. We did see him end up taking contact a few times during the year. If you want evidence why you don't wear a metal band during work around equipment or active environments look up "ring finger avulsion". Though I highly suggest you don't, because it's disgusting.

Too risky to have it catch on something and rip his finger off.

My ring will fall off every now and then. Saban definitely would have lost it a few times over the years flailing around.

I’m sure a lot of them don’t during a game.

Bobby Petrino didn't wear his on the sidelines or on motorcycles.

I haven't taken mine off in a decade but I'm probably buying a silicone ring soon so I don't lose a finger.

Honestly most men should wear a silicon band when not in a formal setting if you are doing any kind of work with your hands.

ring finger avulsion

I never had this but I did sprain/strain my finger and it swole up so big I couldn't get my wedding ring off. I tried every thing but after two days I cut it off with side cutters. Wife didn't like that but since I'd been married over 45 years I didn't have it repaired or replaced. She stopped complaining after about a year.

I am a mining engineer and started working in mines when I was eighteen. It is dangerous to wear rings when working.

Quick question:
Are you, by chance, a female (the old fashion kind that goes by she or her)?
Just curious.....

I hate ignorance, I generally ignore it.

Just something I noticed, already knew why he did it. Just an off season topic.

Bitch threads are somewhere else since you're looking.

I apologize if I offended you.
The thread topic just seemed like something that a female would wonder about and ask. I meant no disrespect.
