A small town is 1000-20000. A large town is 20000-100000. Decatur is a large town.

Do you guys not even settlement hierarchy?

And linking Deonte to Rolando is just dumb. They’re like what, 10+ years a part in age and went to different high schools.

Decatur is a small city not town. Hartselle is a small town.

Signed, Decatur resident of 23 years who grew up in a big city

No.

They were selfish. They put what they wanted for themselves at that moment ahead of the team's interests. Did they make a mistake? Yeah. Are they young? Of course. But they didn't do it because they were young; otherwise, all of them would be screwing up. They did it because they wanted to do what they wanted to do, and that was more important to them than team. Period.

I think the point is young people are more likely to make mistakes.

Obviously these guys never make mistakes as the adults.

I'm sure they perfected this routine never making mistakes at 19 and 20 years old.

I did. My pull out game was strong by that point.

While true, I don’t buy the I’m young so I’m allowed big mistakes. I joined the Army young and didnt/wasn’t allowed to use the young excuse. It’s horseshite especially in the Alabama Football Organization. You are held to a much higher standard.

They’re all out for the rest of the season and possibly beyond.

NCAA drug test just like Tony Brown is just about a certainty.

They have strict set in stone penalties. Going from memory, but iirc recreational drug are 6 games. PEDs, like Will Grier at UF, is 1 calendar year.

Don’t the bowl games count? I think it is worded something like “number of games equal to half the regular season” so if Bama makes it to the title game it will be the first 4 of next season. If they don’t it will be the first five.

Sucks for Brown, he would have been a starter next year. Someone might pass him now.

Cotton better man up for these next two games.

Sounds like Ekiyor was practicing with the 2s at LG. Does anyone recall/know how he's looked in games or practice? I believe he has played in 4 games this year, but I don't recall if that was at Center or Guard and/or how he looked.

"One of the top interior linemen in the latest recruiting cycle ... worked at guard and center this fall and is looking to carve out a role on a deep Tide offensive line unit ... played in four games this season (Louisville, Arkansas State, Ole Miss, The Citadel)."
not sure how he has shown in practice but as a freshman (apparent redshirt candidate) he has gotten some mop up PT against some mild opponents (Bama played 68 against LU, 64 against Arkie St, 64 against OM, and 63 against Citadel.) so imagine he will play only if really needed. Seems #79 Chris Owens has gotten most of the early PT for OC or OG this year, but apparently #55 has passed him in the middle, at least in the minds of the coaches. (which is where is should be the most important)

Ekiyor

I thought Deonte Brown was a little too big, then I saw Ekiyor on the sideline.

Conditioning might be his enemy, but he's got some mass if needed in the run game.

If this does indeed carryover to next year (for either 4 or 5 games) it will really be an issue. Brown is a really good OG and this gives someone else a great opportunity to get starting time and lots of work in the spring and fall camps.
Another issue is if Smith, Jr heads to the NFL, James has been touted as a pass catching TE to replace Smith. This again gives opps for Forristall, Tennison and Parker to get lots of reps.

Now, Baker Elliot is another story; he just graduated and has not really gotten on the field since transferring here from CCofSF. I would have thought he would have transferred after the Playoffs looking for a year of plaing time. However, I would have to believe that this suspension (since CNS indicates NCAA issues) would follow him to wherever he would have transferred. (selfishly, since Bama needs scholarship space and has just signed a stellar class, maybe he will call it done and move on)
