Brown is a big loss. Our O-Line isnt nearly as good when he aint in there. Luckily OU sucks.

Not good. We should be ok vs OU but cotton has been bad against bad competition before so who knows with him

Statement from Nick Saban:

“We have three players, Deonte Brown, Elliott Baker and Kedrick James, who did not make the trip and are suspended due to a violation of team rules and policies.”

Takes a bit of fun out of laughing at CU and the ChickenRoids issue. But, maybe Brown can be ok for the finals when Bama may need a bit of blocking against a good DLine

Cotton, if healthy, is still a good option at LG. Sure, Brown has looked better this year, but Cotton had a really nice 2017 and has played a lot of good football for us. I'm sure he's the best 2nd team LG in all of CFB, to put things into perspective.

If you watch OU on youtube, their D line looks like Tenn's second team or scout team. Yeah, they put 4 guys out there, but there's not a standout among them. Pretty unimpressive body types. When you put that together with the slight build of the rest of the defense, then you start to doubt the efficacy of OU's S&C program.

Bama ought to be able to win this game by 3 scores without throwing a forward pass.

James has been out with the dreaded High Ankle Sprain since week 6, have to assume he was healed? But maybe this will help him for next year, learning Saban don't play.
Baker, I have been thinking he would likely graduate in Dec or May (and since he did get finished in Dec) would think he would look elsewhere (Oregon/UTenn, etc) for next year, since he hasn't cracked the OL at Bama.
Brown..???//?@##@#$$$@??M#@#$$@@ coming off the turf toe and maybe being 100%, and you crap on your teammates... C'mon, Man!!!

May be a dumb question but we got any real clues as to what the violation was?

Timing would suggest failed drug tests. That's a guess on my part. But if it's accurate Brown won't be playing in the championship game either (should we get there).

Maybe Brown will be back for the NCG. This will help him heal more.

Was Brown With the 1st team at practice last week?

Yes he has been sharing snaps with the 1's with Cotton.

Seems 1st occurrence is a single game? and I dont remember Brown sitting out for anything other than Injury or Not being a Starter, seems he will be getting a bit of rest and should his F Up not cost Bama to advance to the CFP CG, he would be prepared to make it up to the team

Just realized that Brown is from Decatur... could this be the ghost of Rolando Past coming back to "haight" the team, hope his VoTR had nothing to do with Rolando's issues..but Decatur is a very small town
