Dude you go straight to name calling? Toddlers? What a joke. Just because you disagree with what people have to say or they you doesn't mean you have to resort to name calling.
Teams that haven't had people acting like babies on the field? How many players do you see throwing tantrums? Every team but with those players. How many teams have looked more disciplined than Bama?
When someone says something you disagree with you just start throwing insults and name calling.
My point is that you can still discipline players, this whole idea that because of nil you can't get onto players is blown out of proportion.

I'm talking about being able to discipline players. Teams are inconsistent, that's part of youth and football.

Exactly!! The highest paid roster in CFB (Ohio State) just lost to Oregon.
That was a complete disaster for them. Unbelievable amount of hype, played the easiest first five games I can ever remember for any major conference team, then lost in what in practical terms amounted to their season opener.

Autzen is a tough place to play. Especially at night. And it wasn't even cold, foggy, and rainy. I feel for those that have to play there in Nov/Dec.
Big10 teams have not played well out west so far this season.
Except Indiana.

I don't really believe the hype. It seats fewer people than Davis Wade Stadium. I just think Ohio State under Ryan Day loses to every actually good team they play.

Loudest college game recorded was 137 decibels.
That was in Knoxville with 100k+ fans.
Autzen topped out at 127 dB with less than 60k fans.
It's loud AF. The weather in late fall in Eugene sucks nuts too.

There's a bill before the Georgia congress to raise the state speed limit to 155 THIS VERY MOMENT.

I want a guy that gets us to the playoffs consistently and occasionally has a team talented enough to win it all. Jim Harbough’s Michigan being a good example
The Jim harbaugh that went 10-3, 10-3, 8-5, 10-3, and 9-4 in his first five seasons? And then a 2-4 covid season. I can’t imagine what the people here would think about that.

There is less loyalty these days.
Bahahaha!
1. Coaches have left players they recruited for another dollar for decades. Many don’t even finish the bowl game with the team if they accept another job.
2. Let’s say Alabama has a 5th year senior QB who’s waited his turn to start. He’s from Tuscaloosa. He went to a bunch of camps and games growing up. Bleeds for Alabama. However, he’s not a national championship caliber QB. Meanwhile, 2019 Joe Burrow wants to transfer in and wants a little NIL money. Do you pay Joe and put homeboy on the bench and win a national title… or would you show loyalty to homeboy and go 9-3 with him?
3. You can bitch about NIL and the portal all day, but there are two problems. 1) No one is willing to put principles above winning. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you have to. No one has to buy players or accept transfers. People will do it, though, because losing is unacceptable. 2) Not just any ole accounting and engineering majors can go out on the field and drive the CFB machine. Fans are accustomed to seeing a very high and exciting level of play and want to see their team win. Few people can meet the demands of fans. That’s why you’re paying them.

Where does Oregon rank in payroll? Phil Knight ( not technically Nike) fronts how much?

This is how you fix college football.
Transfer portal:
- No more unlimited transfer portal. You get one free pass and that’s after getting a degree.
- Only other way to transfer without penalty is if your HC leaves or your designated head recruiter (coordinator, position coach, etc,) leaves the program.
- A coach leaving is also a one time deal so you can’t potentially follow someone all four years. So realistically twice in 4/5 is the most a player can move.
NIL:
I don’t even know where to begin. If they negotiate with a collective, agreements have to be signed and put in place before the season. Holdouts void any previous contract and money owed will have to be disbursed to the respective party. If a player decides to negotiate with a collective there should be more risk/punishment if deals aren’t met. The idea is to push players to what NIL was actually meant to be and that would be endorsements. Lying about $$$ to get a kid to sign has to be stopped somehow.
This would be a great starting point. Allowing players to move whenever they want and the NIL drama has put a real bad taste on the sport.

How do you achieve this and pass federal court scrutiny on intrastate commerce and restraint of trade grounds?
I may be wrong, but I believe it was Brett Kavanaugh in his opinion in the Supreme Court case that opened the door for this, which BTW was decided 9-0, who signaled that he was willing to go even FARTHER in the players’ favor.

The issue isnt the rules, its that federal judges have essentially become dictators and removed any ability of the universities to make any rules

I think guys should be able to transfer once no matter what in whatever year.
And again once if they're coach leaves.
I think the NIL shouldn't be capped or messed with. frick it. If a team wants to shell out $100m for a roster, let them do it.
Spending too much will crush more schools than it will help win a natty and not all $100m is the same, see Aggie.
The other thing is, why cap the number of years a player can play as long as he's enrolled? Why can't a 26 year old player that can't go pro keep playing? So long as he can keep making the team?
Now... if you go to the NFL, frick off your amateur days are over.
I'd even be in favor of allowing a guy to enter the draft and decline to play for that team and come back to BAMA. Why not? What's the NFL going to do? Get their players from Canada? frick the NFL.

The only teams playing disciplined are the Vanderbilts of the world.
Because they actually have student athletes that want an education out of the deal. Few go to Vandy as a ladder to the NFL.
I truly believe a lot of the 4 and 5 star guys have become almost uncoachable. Milroe appears to be playing Milroe ball at times.

And they are technically paying for their education because they owe 4, 5 or 6 years payback time.

People calling for coaches to be fired right now are absolutely acting like toddlers. People are certainly free to have opinions that differ. Im just responding to the attacks. Im not spammimg the board with new threads.

Ive seen nothing from Bama that has been any different than what weve seen anywhere else in CFB over the recent years.

Ive insulted people that deserved it. "Bama fans" throwing out insults about players/coaches, parroting rival fans, and seriously calling for coaches to be fired at this point are once again, literally acting like small children would act. I dont listen to Finebaum, but I can only imagine the garbage that is flowing there.
People are gonna have their opinions, and I am going to have mine. Im guessing the toddler insult is hitting too close to home for some people.

Neither you, me, or any other Joe Blow on this board knows what is being done behind the scenes. I also dont know what mythical standard people are holding these players to. It certainly isnt the last several years of Bama football

Yep, after the Vanderbilt game, I said that cfb is dead.
However, after the Georgia game, it felt totally alive and awesome.
Just sayin
