DeBoer has the same record as Saban through 1.83 seasons here. A lot of how we feel about DeBoer is going to come down to the next two weeks. But interesting food for thought. I don't know if he'll win a championship at Alabama but I wouldn't say he's incapable of coaching in the SEC.

I mean you could just ignore him. There are several troll accounts on here I just refuse to engage with. Don't give them what they want.

Or the people who run this site could ban them. Or maybe remaster is a troll account who works for this site. At this point, I’m guessing the latter.

They’re not showing mutual interest. Some 1 year old analyst suggested it as an option

It was actually just randomly thrown out in a comment on some show a couple weeks ago...Cowherd or something...flippant comment...was surprised it wasn't mentioned on the Rant at the time just to stir crap up. Guess Saban returning to coach LSU overshadowed it.

Seriously...we don't need any distractions with a 1 game season ahead of us.

Not to be the bearer of bad news but Walls98 (who I’ve found to be extremely knowledgeable) said on X that’s its true. Agent reached out to Penn St.

Hey... Let him go. I don't think he'd be successful long term here.

Of course Sexton reached out. He’s going to try and force Byrne to give KDB an extension and raise. It’s what agents do every time a high profile job comes open (this literally just happened with Elko and Cignetti and happened a couple years ago with Norvell and Sarkisian when the Bama job opened up).

If news comes out that Byrne is trying to extend KDB, then I think it’ll show the PSU rumors really have legs.

I feel like Bryne being moved by this would be poor discretion. Love it or hate it, KDB is an ill-placed loss or two away from being on a path for termination in a few years. Extending DeBoer for accomplishing nothing is ridiculous on its face. It is even more absurd when you consider that we're 2 years away from the fanbase wanting him gone if he doesn't win the SEC and make the playoffs once or twice.

Sexton has got to know that and realize that he'd probably be overplaying his hand and getting DeBoer into a situation he may not want to be in.

That's why I think, again, there are no real legs to this because I think Alabama would let him walk right now.

I disagree. While I don't think KDB has necessarily done anything to merit a raise/extension, I don't think Byrne wants to deal with this coaching cycle. It's just too difficult to blow the whole thing up and start over when we just did it two years ago (unless, of course, he's looking to tab Grubb or Wommack as KDB's successor ).

My gosh! Just foolish. We have a better coach than Kiffen, Sark, Dabo, or whatever flavour of the day fans on here can come up with. DeBoer is as good as Kirby. Give him a minute to build his roster. Three of the guys he brought from Washington are our best players. He can build a team and is going to win championships.

People believe Kiffin is the next coming. He’s a good coach, not great. After that, everything is a crap shoot.

CKD’s staff has improved season over season and even within this season.

Grubb’s first season in the SEC. I expect he’ll get much better next year.

Rather be in our shoes than Fla, LSU, and Auburn.

Good, he isn't a good fit for the SEC.

Hard to imagine this is anything other than Jimmy Sexton doing Jimmy Sexton things at this point.

Haven't heard that name in years. Wasn't he one of the "insiders" when the whole Cam Newton NCAA investigation saga was going on?
