NS is losing the attention of this younger generation who has on respect for team, themselves, or society in general.
with that being said it has been a partially good offseason in that we lose AG but gain an AJ. AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
How is that for looking at the silver lining in the clouds

Nick Saban asked him to look elsewhere.

I'd like to at least hear the story on this one. Seeing as the last chick lied, I'm skeptical.

3rd degree dv is what Ryan Anderson was charged with. Could be something dumb like that.

It's almost like they don't even fear Saban anymore.

Exactly, and after that story came out I more or less agreed with him

Fear? They should never fear him. They should respect him.
What kind of relationship do you think these guys have?
BTW, a reminder, these are youngsters. We don't know the full story and young people (including the holy saints of Alabama SEC Rant) make mistakes; sometimes very bad ones.

I meant in the way you're supposed to "fear" God. And no, I'm not comparing Saban to God, I'd never hold anyone to God's level. Respect is probably the word I should've used, but basically they should fear the consequences Saban will bring down on them and they should fear disappointing him.

Definitely, and I'm with Saban 100% on the second chance thing. That said I'm tired of seeing people use the "they're young" excuse. Not just about football players, but now you see kids/young adults using that as an excuse to do stupid shite and they say "don't judge me I'm young and learning!".
Anyway, hope none of that is misunderstood.

Why is it so hard to not be an a-hole?

These kids don't realize the opportunity they have. Even if they never play a down during a game. WTF?

Update:
I have to share some dude's reply on the BOL thread:
quote:
Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones was arrested on two counts of third-degree domestic violence Wednesday morning. Tuscaloosa Police Officers responded to a domestic call at approximately 11:20 p.m. CT Tuesday night.
After speaking to Jones, the victim (a 22-year-old female) and witnesses, police determined that Jones took and damaged the victim's cell phone and threatened to assault her, according to a media release. Jones was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail and charged with one count of domestic violence/harassment and one count of domestic violence/criminal mischief, with each charge carrying a $500 bond.
Since it was charges of domestic violence, Jones must remain in jail for a 12-hour mandatory hold. Both charges against Jones are considered Class A misdemeanors.
Last season as a junior, Jones led the corner position with 44 total tackles (35 solo) and three interceptions as a starter in all 14 of the Crimson Tide's games. He sat out all of spring practice with a hip injury. *** This post will be updated as more details of the arrest are released.
I have to share some dude's reply on the BOL thread:

Something doesn't add up. If she wanted to save her precious phone, she had two clear choices.
1) hold it above her head out of his reach
2) Throw it to a friend 20+ yards away Either choice and he never sniffs the phone.

Ok, good. Just an argument and a broken phone. Still bad conduct, but at least it wasn't worse.
Posted on 4/29/15 at 10:05 am to chattabama
So he broke the chick's phone.
What's the other charge for?
ETA: Why would breaking someone's phone even be considered arrest worthy? Now that he's got to and pay for court, does anyone think he'll have the money to replace that phone?

I'm going to need a 1/9 thread dump pretty soon to get me over these offseason blues.

Well, he did two things as indicated in the article posted above: (1) broke or damaged a phone and (2) threatened to assault her. Hence the two charges. However for this to be called "domestic violence" he was either in a relationship with her or he used to be in a relationship with her.

I define this more as being respect. In college I absolutely hated my OC. He tried to "rule" through fear. We detested him for it.
Our Head Coach on the other hand built relationships on respect and didn't want to disappoint (although some did).
I feel Saban is more along that line. Fear will only have these kids "act right" when they see someone watching. Respect on the other hand will have them think deeper about their actions, the consequences and more importantly the disappointment because the expectations from who they respect would have been missed.

I totally get that and I truly don't like when people make repeated avoidable mistakes then use that as a means to excuse themselves.
With that said, I know their frontal lobe isn't full developed and these kids sometimes make boneheaded decisions in heat of the moment situations. I also remember I made a ton of mistakes as well. I guess that is where my "second chance" theme comes from; my own past.
No misunderstanding. I think we actually agree completely on both parts I quoted.
