It sounds as though the lead investigator didn't do a thorough job. Doesn't know who was the passenger in Miller's car??

This was my biggest take away from that article. How does the investigating officer not have the names of everyone involved?

The other thing is, LE seems to have believed Johnson’s story from the beginning, without any collaborating evidence or witnesses. So, instead of doing favors for Alabama, they may have a slight bias against student athletes.

All will come out eventually, by then the story will be forgotten and media will continue to repeat their errors. Brandon will be a millionaire, but will have had his name tarnished, one person dead and several other lives changed forever.

I does seem like Darius was minimally involved in the altercation. His mistake is having the gun and then not maintaining possession of it. Perhaps he could have diffused the situation enough that no shots were fired.

I have such a hard time understanding how these situations escalate so quickly, even the fight between the girls. I don’t recall a lot of that when I was at Alabama, we were just a bunch of drunks acting silly.

Agreed. The worst that ever happened was drunk fighting. Never gun violence.

If Johnson turns out to be the aggressor or even if not shouldn't charges against him be made?

Attempted murder.

Actually, don't know about Alabama law, but if his actions are proven to have led to the girl's death, maybe even a second degree murder charge, if his actions are shown to be what directly led to her death.

Wow...I sure hope all of the video is released. It sounds as though the lead investigator didn't do a thorough job.

It's ridiculous if they only took one side of the story (Johnson) for Capital Murder charges.

Sounds like there might not be a trial .. state might be screwed.

Hard to know. The article was very interesting but we have to realize even it is not a complete picture. However, if what he has reported is close to the truth, I'd say plea deals may be the best the prosecutors can hope for.

Miles didn’t do himself any favors either when he called 911 and lied to dispatch as to how Davis had been shot. Throw in Davis saying he was too drunk from tequila to know he had been shot.
Does seem awfully “sketchy” that Johnson didn’t testify at the preliminary hearing. If my girlfriend/ mother to my child and had been shot and killed in front of me, I would’ve made damn sure to let anyone know what happened and that I want Justice.

Do we know if Johnson testified at the grand jury?

That police officer said, at the hearing, that Miller and Bradley trapped the Jeep in so he could not leave. That was a damn Lie. Its like a reporter said on Finebum a couple of weeks ago. I would take anything a police officer says with a grain of salt.

His mistake was to not just get in Miller's car and go home.

Too many times the police come up their theory of what happened, and then bend and manipulate the facts to fit their theory.
Just like Goodman said Miller retrieved the gun. He didnt retrieve anything, just like Miller didnt block anyone in.
Miller's car was parked when the Jeep pulled up behind him with his lights off.
