I guarantee you Texas was like "hey Sark who was the best recruiter that we can get - we are going to offer them $1 million"

Looks like Urban Meyer is about to be HC of the Jaguars. 3 Man Front on Jox just brought up whether it would be possible that he would come after Charlie Strong for his staff.

I don't mean this to be mean spirited or make light of anyone's addiction, I truly fear the boosters at Texas will drive Sark to drinking again. The pressure is going to be huge after that staff is in, massive when they play Oklahoma. The expectations are going to be insane.

I actually feel better knowing it took an AHC title and a million dollars a year to leave Bama.

Yea, my concern level there is pretty much zero.

Now, if we lose Banks, Huff and Scott all together (plus Golding's recruiting)? That would be a bit concerning.

All those chefs in the same kitchen is why they have one title in 50 years. Only Mack Brown was enigma of a politician to rub elbows with them. And he still bent under the pressure after 2005.

I've thought from the beginning that Texas seemed like quite possibly the worst job that Sark could take from a pressure/his health situation standpoint. Even worse than following up Saban at Alabama.

I really do fear for him and his issues if things don't go great the first few years.

Short of him getting a HC job, I'd give Huff whatever he wants, RGC or CoOC to go with his AHC title.

Agreed - he's one of the best non-coordinator assistants we've had. Great position coach, great recruiter.

One possible coach who could go with Urban Meyer to the Jaguars is his former DC Charlie Strong, the former Texas and Louisville head coach, who spent this season on the Alabama staff.

From NFL Now on @nflnetwork
: Longtime college coach Charlie Strong is a name to watch for Urban Meyer’s staff with the #Jaguars.

It got pretty empty after the 2018 season too.

It’s just commonplace at Alabama. But I definitely like the quieter coaching carousel like last year.

That’s just insane for a special teams guy. And Alabama was ridiculed for paying Lupoi north of $1 million in 2017.

Don't know if y'all have seen this, but the Golding thing may be more than a rumor. Saturday Down South reports he appears to be the prime target for Texas DC:

Also says there are others in the mix so it's not written in stone...

shite like taking a picture of the recruiting board and negative recruiting all the guys that Bama had a relationship with is where it steps into "frick that guy" territory for me.

Who did that? I remember hearing it, but forgot the culprit.

The official Texas Twitter account should post those numbers instead of the traditional welcome Coach tweet. With the tag line "We still rich in case you forgot" Hook'em

From a guy on BOL, so take it for what its worth

quote:

From someone close to a staff member;

1) Banks doesn’t care for O’Brian and was hoping Saban would consider him as a replacement to Sark. He went 0-2

2)He decided that if he’s going to stay a position coach... Recruiting Texas kids to Texas and working for Sark is much easier than recruiting Texas kids to Alabama and working for Saban.
