Ok, Boulware has taken the lead on my hopes for one of our remaining spots. I would love to replace Banks' Texas connections with someone who has their own connections there. I mean, I would be happy with any 2 or the three that are being mentioned, but I think Boulware might have some untapped upside that Saban might be able to get out of him.

The good thing is that all three have been ST coaches in the past, so we should be good in that phase of the game.

What’s the negatives for BoB? One of the writers at RollBamaRoll seems to think he’s a horrible choice for OC. And the writer isn’t a dummy

Is it Eric or Josh? If Eric, I would not worry, if Josh, I would listen more carefully.

He looks like he had a lot of loyalty with the guys at OU cause most of them transferred after he left. Don't know if that is good or bad. I also don't know if he was that good or if kids are not connecting with DeMarco Murray but he is basically down to McGowen.

ETA: Saw OU is getting Brooks back.

Stephen M Smith, who I don't really trust for anything, is speculating:

RB - Gran / Taylor
ST/TE - Boulware / Sumlin

We get Gran/Boulware and I get all the running backs

Sumlin - Butch Jones Role
Pannunzio - Off Field

LET'S GO!

QB/OC- O'Brien
OL- Marrone -would have preferred Stoutland but he's part of the O'brien package and a very good o-line coach in his own
WR- Wiggins -Solid job last season and knows the core.
RB- Boulware- Texas recruiting background and already familiar with Both Wheaten and Jase and comes with special teams experience.
TE/ST-Gran - former Offensive coordinator and RB reputation, but would also excel in coaching up the 2 younger TE coming into the receiving core.
Analyst- Panunnzio and special assistant to HC who will be able to assist all film study with special teams, Te's, Rb.

My only wish is that O'Brien sticks to a lot of what sark did.
We ran more pro set stuff and our balance kept defense off balance all yr..Bill tends to get away from the running game.
Seeing that we will have so much talent at that spot.
Also will need on the road at Fla,AU and Texas A&M to This keeps bryce from needing to fling it over 30 times every game. This also Depending on how well our young WR's play early on..
This all depends on how spaced out the fla and A&M road games are.

Just FYI, Houston was never in the top half of the league in passing play percentage during O'Brien's full seasons there. Fairly sure they never eclipsed 60%.

Nice piece on Doug Marrone from al.com. Seems like a good hire for the good guys:

predicting a minimum of three losses next season

If you see any writer predicting this, you should stop reading that writer's work. This is a hilariously bad take. It would take disaster scenarios to lose three games, especially if he's saying three in the regular season.

We've had zero or one loss at the end of the regular season in 11 of Saban's 14 seasons. It's completely insane what he's done here.

It will all come down to how well Bryce and the Young WR core play.Did not read the article as it most likely based on 3 road games with a first time starting QB- at A&M, at Fla,at AU..
Which still may depend on were they fall on the schedule.
AU at the end will find Bryce with close to 10-11 games in the books.
A&M and Fla breaking in a new QB early evens it out..

Honestly more concerned with Ole Miss next year than I am AU. Lane will have that offense cranking and if our defense isn't on point, asking a pretty new offense to keep up could be trouble. I'm guessing we get them early as we almost always do.

Young WR core

Did you mean Bryce Young or the WR core is young, cause we have a full group of second and third year pass catchers?

I understand but now that we seen it and have it on film,I think we do a better job with it.
But the main factor with me is I think golden and the defensive unit got more freedom on personnel packages toward the end..specifically against AU in the iron bowl, Arky and Notre dame..We saw more of a solid rotation packages with 50,58,48,47 along with Allen, sander stepping up..We also saw 13,14 and 29 improved play while also seeing less of wright blowing assignments..Also saw moody step up at Arky and play situational packages against Notre dame..
Getting one of Mathis or smith to play as well as 58 and finding somebody to be solid for surtain..I dont think we replace surtain just need a little better than jobe so we dont have to move jobe to the other side..

what I am saying is while Slade,X.williams,Baker,Holden all have time in program.I think its about mixture of size at the wr positions that gave us great versatility in our routs.
So we are going to need a Baker,Brook,Agiye Hall or Holden as bigger targets on some of those routes..

I feel Slade going to do great work this yr, but I am just saying we will need more balance size wise..
