The rant is almost unbearable these days. The alternates and just the trolls make it impossible. You have to assume the mods don't want to get in the middle.

He was not recruiting the same kids at ND and can not compare how he did against the SEC when he did not have the same level of talent.

ND Recuiting class 2021 ranked #9
2020 #18
2019 #15

ND offered Camar Wheaton, TreVeyon Henderson (ohio State), Will Shipley (Clemson), etc.
THey offered to players, who commited to Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, Oregon, LSU, etc.
Look at the lists of who they offered: LINK

So that narrative simply isn't true at all. So he will be doing same thing with LSU, just not sure if he can get the job done. He has Raymond and kept most of the staff, so he should be okay, but it's gonna be little tough for him, but he'll finish in Top 10 going foward.

RIley- He's with USC now. Little easier than OU, and he can see better path to playoff, now that OU moved to SEC. Smart move, but I agree.. figure out the defense and the team is lethal. Would be smart to hire Jimmy Lake as DC>. but I see he took his DC with him, so thats a no go.

I've lost all respect for Riley after the way he has handled this move from OU to USC. It's a clusterfrick and doesn't seem to be getting any better

ND has some of the most stringent admissions requirements for athletes of any D1 university. Of course there's going to be some overlap though, because it's a big time football program. Every kid who signs with ND could sign with Alabama, LSU, Clemson, UGA, etc. but not every kid who signs with those programs could sign with ND. He has a broader range of kids he can realistically recruit now, but he also loses the selling point of the relatively unique space ND occupies in the CFB world.

The stuff with the "sleeper agent" is incredibly shady and needs to be investigated. If there's any truth to it both that guy and Riley need to be wrecked by the NCAA.

Their DB coach was visiting recruits for OU but actively texting recruits, recruiting for USC. If you have a BOL account I'll link the thread talking about it all. It's all very shady

Allegedly OU's DBs coach is recruiting kids for USC while he's still on the OU staff and actively participating in team activities, going on recruiting trips as an OU coach, etc.

Thanks. I hadn't read that BOL thread, but I was aware of what the OU DB coach did. Apparently Domani Jackson spilled the beans on it.

As some one who works in Higher Ed, this is very much what Notre Dame wants the public to believe and while they in no way have the admission standards of most public universities they are not necessarily the image they project when it comes to athletes. I wouldn't put them say any where near Stanford for instance pertaining to this topic.

Saban offers hundreds of kids every year that will never go to UA. Simply looking at a offer list is naive. Hell UAB offers the same kids we do.

His recruiting classes are no where near what UA or any of the top teams in the SEC get year in and year out. If you believe a ranked 15 or 18 class can compete in the SEC go ask UF how that worked out for them in SEC since they were ranked 9, 9, and 15 the last years.

But your example is great in the fact that he recruits at an lower level and yet they still make the CFB playoffs including this year they still have a chance. Now you have Kelly at LSU who recruits great every year and with far superior talent to land. LSU last 3 HCs have won a NC.

Brian Kelly doing his introductory press conference.

He just mentioned how good the academics at LSU were and how much of a priority they are. Someone should ask him if academics are so important, is he going to use the same academic requirements he had at Notre Dame?

That would be funny.

Follow up question:

"Before you accepted the job, did you realize you have to play Alabama every season?"

LSU fans are definitely bipolar. Last week they were in denial and on suicide watch

Wish I had the time to look up all their past posts crapping on Norte Dame, denying they are a blue blood and criticizing their schedule.

Now, tRant thinks ND’s coach is elite, despite the fact, last week, they thought the football program was irrelevant?

Bipolar is a spot on description!

For LSU fans I do not think it matters who they hired as it was more about keeping up with the Jones. What made their fans happy is the administration was willing to pay 9.5 mil so they could say we are like UA and a&m.

Most threads regarding the hire is LSU fans arguing with a&m fans who made the better investment.

It's a very NFL like move, promoting your stud coordinator because you don't want them poached by someone else.

Didn't work out with UW and Jimmy Lake though...
