They've become more toxic than the Tennessee situation was. There is no chance for them to sign any coach who on the rise or in a good situation currently. None.

After that whole shite show Tennessee did end up with a pretty dang good coach with Heupel.

Yea they did. Not sure the ceiling is super high, but he's got a system, teaches it very well and clearly knows how to recruit to it.

Kind of a better, more modern version of Leach.

It's because the shite that goes on behind the scenes at Auburn is a palace intrigue storyline from season 3 of a period drama on premium cable.

We just hired our 4th former Muschamp-era South Carolina coach. Seems interesting considering the issues with DC (on and off the field). I realize Muschamp is a Co-DC at UGA, but would not be a bad move for him to take the job as sole DC at Bama should he be so inclined to reunite with his former staffers

The only coach that was on the defensive side of the ball at Carolina was Robinson and he was the DC. Cox was only there for a year. Golding isn't going anywhere but why wouldn't Saban just make Robinson the DC if something happens?

ETA: I see Hutzler coach LBs too for Muschamps.

That's a fact. He's got his own plan and recruits to it well. Somehow I think he'll get out of there after another year or two.

I don't think this was the best hire for Miami. On the recruiting side, it's a homerun. But, on the game planning and in-game strategy side I have my doubts.

Michigan used more of Harbaugh's scheme from Stanford this past season and had more success. Gattis interviewed for the UVA and Duke jobs to no avail. I have to think Gattis was being shown the door at Michigan.

Really? I think Gattis wanted out, Harbaugh has been a circus the last 2 years. Having a HC openly trying to get NFL jobs has got to be a pain. I think If they wanted to get rid of Gattis they would have let him go when they cleaned house last year. I don't see why they would show him the door after his best year at OC. I do think Miami is a weird fit though.

Rumor has it Gattis was sticking around Michigan because he might have been named HC if Harbaugh left. People think Harbaugh is ground and pound but he's a good coach who can adjust his offense to suit his personnel. Harbaugh threw the ball when Luck was his QB.

He generally likes a balanced attack and is willing to adapt to his personnel. Those years with Luck, Gerhart and Taylor got a ton of touches at running back. I think some people might get confused with his desire to have physical football teams and commitment to the run to play balanced football with ground and pound. With that being said though he believes in running the ball.

With Gattis, I think Harbaugh coming back is why he is leaving for a parallel position. Not because he is being pushed out but because he is done with Harbaugh. The other 2 positions were HC gigs, and I think you were right he was waiting to see what Harbaugh would do, and probably hoping he would leave to give him a shot at HC. It sounds like Michigan would not have given him a look at HC had Harbaugh left which is another piece. Once Harbaugh said he would stay his agent probably put/had feelers out, got a bite from UM and he was on the first thing smokin' out of Ann Arbor.

Gattis just comes across as a spoiled manchild to me. He was an unprofessional arse on his way out the door here and shite on Locksley for no reason, and now he's once more playing the victim on his way out the door at Michigan.
