I actually hope Jacobs goes out there and gets drafted now and gets his money while he can. From what I remember, he has a story that not many of our successes have. Nobody really wanted him, we go out to Oklahoma in the 11th hour to watch him play basketball and offer him because we didn't have really have anyone else. Then he comes in here and looks like a football player from day one.
Go get your money Josh.
I have seen him 2nd rd projected and agree.

If you stack to deep on that side you just lose them to transfers, keeping a well rounded class is key even in years where we are in the running for a ton of high end defensive players.
We need depth at LB something that has plagued us with injuries for 2 years combine with a B Davis type of players not living up to potential. We also need depth at DB as well.
I also have no issue with balance but no reason to settle. It is like going to a bar trying to pick up some chick to take home. Spend all night hitting on the hot ones and at the end of the night you have 2 choices. Go home alone or take home the fat and ugly one. Sorry I would rather go home alone. Just saying.

We will have Najee, Robinson, Ford at RB, that is a depth issue. Realistically Ford is basically considered a receiving back, so we have 2 actual RB's.

Georgia boards are clinging to Andrew Bone's words like a life raft.
Wasn't Lance Bone's only real source of info? It was either him or Steele. I just remember back in the day Bone actually got some solid info, but that hasn't been the case in years.

there is/used to be a poster on one of these boards that "delivered pizza" around T'town, maybe we can find him and have him deliver to M'gomery and help with the info gathering
Sgt. Lincoln Osiris
Goes back to tidesprots, and Woolly.
I still talk with him on another board. He has retired from Intel gathering, but still breaks a story or two per year.

Depth does become an issue at RB. Unless Saban got some kind of answer yesterday from Sanders, I would look for the staff to be targeting another back for sure. 3 is not nearly enough

Especially with freshman backs, Damien and Najee both have been slow starters despite their high overall ranking. Yeldon showed out in his first game and then rode the bench for 6 games because he couldn't get his head right in practice. 2 freshmen at least give you the chance that one of them is able to be a meaningful contributor beyond situational play.

Not going to down vote because I feel this is a honest discussion/question.
I believe Saban and Staff go with another back IF they have a definitive idea from Josh Jacobs himself as well as Robinson being a potential flip candidate with Locksley.
I agree that if Jacobs is staying and Robinson is as well, go after another defender such as a LB or DB.
I guess another way to look at is to see how each class stacks up. Jacobs stays;
Senior- Jacobs
Junior- N Harris B Robinson
Soph- none
Rs Fresh- Ford
Jacobs leaves;
Senior- none
Junior- Harris B Robinson
Soph- none
Rs Fresh- Ford
You want to try and take at least one in each class I would imagine much like a QB.

Nope. I don’t know Greg Newton. I’m on vacation this week and I’m out doing a few maintenance side jobs in Montgomery.

At a minimum and we have taken 3 Rbs before. Jacobs staying would probably only happen if he gets hurt in the playoffs, so I prefer to plan for life with him happy in the NFL. Ford will be a useful back, I have no doubt, but we can't go into this season with only 1 freshman back.

Does anyone know when the players receive their draft grades? Do they wait until the season is over?

You would think our depth chart would be an enticement for backs in this class
Posted on 12/13/18 at 8:24 am to Tider95
Yep! We took 4 in the '13 class!!!!
Henry
Kamara
Tenpenny
Jones

Exactly. If all of that comes to fruition and we don’t grab a running back, what happens if Najee has a great year and bolts! Would rather be safe than sorry.

Did we ever hear why the random OSU 247 Mod put in a crystal ball for Dax to flip back to Michigan? That was odd.

Christian Williams says he is still not signing early because he wants to take his official visits.
He says he is still "solid" to Alabama though.

"solid" until Pola-Gates or Banks jumps on board?

Not that this is earth shattering... but I talked with a friend last night. He graduated from shades valley in the early 2000s and was good friends with a guy who eventually signed with Miss State. Anyways he is now SID at UGA. He told us that UGA was not at all confident in Sanders, Neal, or Dean. He did say that these kids go to IMG academy to be able to pick and choose their future school and that just because one signs with a certain school doesn’t mean anything. He also mentioned that UGA was stacked at RB and would be a little surprised if sanders chose them simply based on depth.
