I was more concerned about ND last year than this team.

If this was 2020 Bama I don’t think any of us would be concerned about this game. However this isn’t 2020 Bama and 2021 Bama has given us plenty of reasons for concern. If nothing else they have played down to competition several times. If they do it again this will be a close game.

The team may not be hearing “rat poison” for this game, but some individuals should have a message for the voters of awards.

The assumption that guys who haven't played college teams with elite WRs aren't really that good is pretty dumb.

It's incredibly stupid. Every time I see one of those posts I laugh

told everyone we would beat UGA, we are locked in. Focused. Cincy will fight for their life but our team is on the hunt now. Buckle up

I'm with you.

However this weird thing some Bammers got where they can't give credit unless it's Alabama is nauseating.

Cincinnati has two high draft picks at CB. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging this and giving them credit for it.

If we're smart and gameplan well we will exploit their nickel in the passing game and run on that front to create opportunities over the top on those corners.

not downplaying the excellence of the Cincy DB's and their nfl level play; however, looking at the actual games played and the margin of win ... I am not as worried about this game. YES, they have great players and YES LAST year they gave a worse uga team all they wanted (BUT lost the game). IF Bama shows up as the normal Bama team, they win, if they play like they did against LSU or Abren, well the results will likely be the same (Bama wins).
Any team can catch lightening in a bottle; but I see this as a fairly good game; but a Bama win.

To me the pass defense of UC is solid, but I am drooling to get ahold of that 45th ranked rush defense. They are very small on defense and I think the 3-3-5 hey run will get smashed. Once that happens they have to cheat the safeties up and then pop goes 1. Also their offense is extremely run dependent and that matches up very good for us. They will have to try a lot of misdirection plays to move the ball. I think their defense will be gassed early in the third.

Yep. Don't get into 1st round talk as a corner anyway unless you have some type of elite traits that can translate. Those dudes can ball. Gotta respect them

It’s not even the two CNs. Hell LSU and Auburn have that. This is a team of super seniors. A lot of their guys are 23-24 yrs old. Lot of maturity in that and it makes them a dangerous team. Like Fickel is a great coach as well.

The fact is is that we've given up plenty of yards and points to offenses worse than Cincinnati this season, and our offense has been stymied by defenses worse than Cincinnati's this season. We've also shut offenses down that were better than Cincinnati's, and have scored at will against defenses that were better than Cincinnati's.

That's the point. Its hard to tell with this team.

This ...

We just don't know what team will show up.

Sauce Gardner finished his college career of 35 games without allowing a TD.

I'm not sure we saw that at all. We didn't need to throw it to beat them because their defensive scheme left the run game wide open, but we were still very successful in the passing game.

Also, throwing the ball for 181 yards and 3 tds doesn't scream "man their pass defense was elite" to me at all. I think our passing strategy had more to do with losing Metchie than anything Cincy did.

ok, i'm here to take my medicine, eat crowe, whatever. those are the absolute best db's in the history of db's. how dare i make the assumption that they might not be as good as advertised when bama was obviously terrified of throwing against them.

and yet...
bama skulldrug that great cincy defense by 21 points.

Easy call. 335 defense is good for pass defense bad for run defense. Even so when Bob called quick short passes they were there. He just tends to want to do 10+ yard routes every time.
