He can mentor Pete with Pete coaching the ends and Strong coordinating the D.

Um, Bama may win the Natty next year with this guy on the defensive staff - maybe a better chance if he is the coordinator.

Should we read anything in to the color of that tie?

He looks good in Crimson and White.

Why do people always jump to conclusions with these visits?

Remember Chip Kelly and Hugh Freeze visiting?

But wasn't he visiting because we were trying to hire him before the Trustees vetoed it?

Lane visited too before we hired him

I think the main thing is we have ex-coaches visit all the time - sometimes it's to talk/gauge interest on being an analyst/coach and sometimes it's just to talk ball. We never really know which it is until we are told.

Considering Strong has an offer on the table from Mullen to be an analyst at Florida I'd guess this is about more than just hanging out and talking. I don't know the extent of Saban and Strong's relationship, so it may be to meet and talk and for Saban to see what he thinks, but I would guess it's more than just chalk talk and go your separate ways.
