This is the single season record, obviously set by Amari Cooper, and it to me seemed like it was going to be safe for quite a while, but now I’m not sure. He had just 68 catches last year, but some stuff to consider after r cording his first career double-digit receiving game against Duke.

- Our WR depth now compared to Cooper in 2014 isn’t comparable. Cooper has 84 more catches than the next closest guy that year, DeAndrew White. So that would seem to take away opportunities.
- We are going to skull drag most opponents, which means that Jeudy is probably going to have to do most of his damage in the first half.

On the other hand....
- Best QB possibly in school history passing the ball.
- Sarkesian’s offensive style is probably closer to Kiffin’s in terms of the West Coast short passing stuff. This gets Jeudy more touches than he had last year when the passing game was much more focused down the field.

If we play 15 games, Jeudy needs to catch just over 8 balls per game to get there. I don’t find it likely, but I’m interested to see how much he gets forced the ball.

No way. Too many weapons at WR. It’s a double edged sword: it should technically get him more opportunities because defenses can’t focus on just taking him Away and that would be true if it were just one other guy like Ruggs. But with Ruggs and Smith and Waddle all being lethal, it just spreads the ball around too much. But that’s a good thing for Bama’s O overall

He’d do it under Kiffin alongside White.

But not this year with these 4 guys.

The talent at WR is absolutely ridiculous on this team.

3 other future NFL receivers not to mention a couple TE's catching passes along with 2 stud RB's getting carries & occasional receptions, probably not.

No, BUT it should be noted his 13 targets against Duke matched his career high.

In 2018, he only saw 10+ targets twice.

He's getting fed this year...

Nope. But if he keeps doing what he did Sat then defenses are going to send help on him and then Waddle, Ruggs and Smith are going to feast.

I hope not. I hated Kiffin's offense. I want to see us use all the WR's.

He could catch 150+ if they wanted him to but we'll stop trying to score after 35-45 minutes every game.

So no.

The obvious answer is no but I truly hope it's because we chose to be more balanced with our run game. As the OL gets up to speed the opportunities for Najee and Brian to control the tempo and lean on the D will be there. Bama had 42 rushing attempts vs Duke. That's commitment.

Not seein' it...Amari Cooper fell one short of that number in 2014 and Bama didn't have near the depth of talent at WR then that they have now...

I would counter that Jeudy has a better QB to get him the ball, but I wont.

10 the first game, so 115 the rest of the year. If Alabama plays 14 more games, he would need to average 8.2 per game. IDK if you've played fantasy football or not, but 8 catches a game is extremely difficult. When you factor in the other weapons with the schedule, I'd have to say no.

Still not saying he'll get there, but I think he'll be well over 100.

Just for context, when Cooper set the record of 124, he had double-digit catches in five games and he had at least 8 catches in seven more games. He also had 2 catches against Arkansas and 3 against Western Carolina that year.

Sark seems hell bent on forcing the ball to JJ so he's going to rack up the catches. Any predictions on where he ends up? I'm saying he'll average 7 per game the rest of the way, we play 15 games, and Jeudy ends up with 109 catches.
