Success that's relevant to what's going on today is what I count. Alabama's pretty much been on a plateau since '09. Clemson's steadily improved as Dabo has learned and gained credibility.

There's every reason to think Clemson can (not necessarily will - but can) surpass Bama as the top program in CFB in the near future. If they win it again next year, I put them at the top.

That you think it's somewhat easy to do this is the Saban/Alabama effect.

We will beat them this year, and then the point needs to be made that they play nobody and their so called dynasty is a joke.

It's all semantics and mental masturbation but I don't think 2 of 3 national titles is a dynasty. If it is, quite a few programs have had dynasties. Alabama has at least 3.

5 of 10 is a dynasty never before equaled, or at least not since the Ivy League dominated rugby type football in the 19th century.

If FSU and Miami could ever get their shite together again Clemson would be in trouble.

I think Miami is finished. They were the top program when I was growing up, but I would be shocked if they win another natty in my lifetime. Money (for coaching salaries and facilities) is too important to winning nowadays and Miami doesn’t have it.

FSU obviously can still win big with the right coach. Not sure they have the right coach, though.

Sounds exactly like what people would say about Alabama in the mid 2000's.

All it takes is 1 good hire.

Yeah, but Alabama had a hungry fan base and paid what it took for Saban, his assistants, and all the facility projects since then.

Miami isn’t going to do that.

After we got turned down by Rich Rod.

The stars aligned for Saban, but UA still had the willingness to pay the money for him. Miami isn’t going to pay top dollar for a coach and state of the art facilities.

Miami and Florida State both will be back competing for titles.

Pray that a team with a pulse eventually shows up on Clemson's regular season schedule sometime in the next decade.

Have to admit that we don't have a lot of room to talk with our schedule this year.

Still a helluva lot harder than Clemson's.

Our 4th and 5th toughest games are their 1st and 2nd. (Texas A&M and South Carolina)

Miami is a good QB away from 10 wins, and FSU is an Oline away from the same or more.

Just last season we smashed them 24-6. The losing team gets the better of the winning team the very next season...so we're right where we need to be if you think about it.

Remember, the ACC is arse. Any team who gets their act halfway together is immediately one of the best teams in the ACC. Probably VT, Miami, and FSU are a few players away from double-digit wins.
