Whenever Tua would come in, Cam Sims would make some amazing catches.

He made an awesome diving catch on a pass from Tua against UGA but he was 'bout a yard out of bounds in the back of the end zone...he was fully stretched out and I didn't know he'd actually caught the ball till I saw the replay...

Ridley lost some money because of Hurts too. Saban made a bad decision last year. The man isn't perfect but I think he kicks himself thinking about it honestly.

Daboll was a bad hire. He should have brought in a college offensive coordinator who was also a QB coach.

We still don't have that. However, I think Enos is a proven QB coach that will be good for all the guys in that room.

Daboll wasn't the issue!!!!!!!!! Jalen isn't a QB and that handicapped the offense. I really think Jalen needs a solid year or two with a QB coach to become a serviceable college QB.

And, of course, Enos has been a successful O.C. I wouldn't be totally surprised if he's calling plays by the end of the year.

Daboll wasn't the only issue but he definitely was part of the problem. He was not a great coordinator or playcaller. Jalen Hurts and our offense as a whole regressed under him.

You're admitting that Jalen needs a QB coach and what he got last year was a TE coach. I don't care for the guy, but Kiffin as a coordinator coaches circles around Daboll.

And I am all aboard the Tua train and know that Jalen has serious flaws. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

I can't see that happening at all. You've got Locksley and Gattis apparently ahead of him on the pecking order. Not saying Enos wouldn't be very capable, but you aren't going to demote an OC during the season unless things start to fall apart, and with our schedule, that's simply not going to happen.

Nah. That's not Saban's style unless Locksley pulls a Kiffin which is highly doubtful.

It’s not Daboll’s fault Hurts was ignoring receivers that were open right in front of him.

Does the Redskins have the most amount of Bama players right now? Feels like they are all recent products too (~3-4 yrs) and not from the early Saban tenure (pre 2013)

Seems like everytime I hear about my skins, it references some recent Bama player

They have 5 players (if Sims makes the roster) and another on IR. The 5 players on active rosters is tied with the Ravens and Jags for the most.

Daboll was an issue, though certainly not the issue.

Daboll would have done much better with a pro-style QB, just like Jalen would have done much better if Lane or Gus, for example, was his OC.

No one said Daboll sucked or was a bad coach. I said he was a bad hire. You are prone to hyperbole. What Fells said is correct.

Oh, OK, my bad.

Here's some hyperbole, now all the folks that insisted Hurts was a good QB are latching onto the new rhetoric of "he just didn't have a good college OC and QB coach." And it's ridiculous.

You guys carry on. I think Daboll was on par with every other OC we've had, and certainly better than Nuss. He just didn't have a competent QB to work with, and Saban had already mentioned we were going away from the Kiffin Cute style of offense.

daboll looked like a genius whenever tua came in. Not dabolls fault hurts can't find the receivers that were open on almost every single play. Only knock I have on daboll was he couldn't recruit

I didn't think Nuss was so bad, especially in 2012; that was one of the best offenses in the Saban era. We had a lot of blowouts that year but thought he called great games against UGA and Notre Dame...and he was money calling plays on that last drive against LSU...

He had at least two iconic play calls that'll go down in Bama history: the screen pass to Yeldon against LSU and the play-action bomb to Cooper in the SECCG...

Who are these people? Are they in this thread? You are prone to overreact as well.

Sims, Ridley, and Foster would have made more money if they had an OC who knew how to scheme to a QBs strengths and develop a QB. They also would have made more money had they had a better QB.

I'm one of the people who thinks Jalen wouldn't be a good fit in Gus' offense and I think Lane would've put more on his plate had Lane been here last season. And, the more responsibilities Lane would've given I don't think Jalen would've been able to handle. Furthermore, had Lane been here last season I think he would've been more vocal than Daboll about giving the reigns to Tua. Tua can run Lane's REAL west coast, pro style offense.
