Aside from that, I would take Sark in a heartbeat if Texas gave him the axe.
This was actually one of the reasons I brought up Riley to begin with. If you can get a coach that everyone wanted 3 years ago but failed in a place where everyone seems to fail…
And if you can get that coach at a significant discount because of their buyout from another school and apply that to NiL then there’s something there.
Like Sark making 4 mil a year where we have an additional 6 mil a year to spend on NiL because Texas is still paying him is appealing.

Sark can coach and recruit. He has been forced with a hand of cards for playing a manning…by the same people who pay his bills, which may be the reason he gets fired all together. If Deboer is gone (I honestly don’t care either way at this point); I think sark would be a home run.

I could see it. And Sark even admitted he briefly considered taking the Alabama job and leaving Texas when Saban retired because of what Saban and Alabama had done for him but didn’t feel it was right after finally getting Texas going a bit which I can respect.
In a perfect world I’d like to just keep DeBoer and for us to find a way to not go 8 quarters while only scoring 1 offensive touchdown. I like him personally and there’s some really good moments in there. If every year there’s going to be crazy struggles followed by rumors of him leaving though then you have to start looking at what you would do if it happens.

I question Sark’s QB evaluation a bit to be honest, so I don't know if I would assign 100% of the blame for the Arch situation to Texas boosters. If he tells them this kid would be a low tier P4 or G5 recruit if his last name was Smith they aren't going to roll out the red carpet and throw a bank at him. I will say that being unable to bench him is probably 100% outside pressure though.

At this point Sark shouldn't be hurting for money so the loss of a job if he benched Arch shouldn't be a determining factor. He's gonna lose his job anyway if Arch keeps losing games.

I was about to say the defense is designed to give up a bunch of yards and plays to avoid the big plays.
It's keeping points off the board but tons of bad offensive teams have shortened the games with ball control.
Our defense plays a ton of snaps because it's basically the philosophy
The defensive philosophy has become this season's potential downfall. On paper, it's a fine idea when playing most modern offenses in today's game but a school like UGA is always going to give you trouble because of their physicality, efficient pass game, strong run game, and can matchup talent wise. Tennessee figured this out while trotting out a new QB and changed their offense enough to take advantage.
Now you pair the defensive philosophy with an offense that has gone dry and relies too heavily on explosives, and you're allowing the opponent to take over the game by dominating T.O.P. and pace. If the offense isn't scoring and gives the ball back quickly, opponents will love to take what you give them and eat that clock while going methodically down the field for points.
Idk how much the staff can adjust on a bye week, but philosophical changes will have to happen this off-season.

I love watching the play calling for UGA

Imagine countering the strength of a defense by calling plays that take them out of the game.
Kirby deserved that missed FG for being a pussy and not going for it.
And their OC is Mike fricking Bobo.

Lincoln Riley took a loaded Bob Stoops ship and started trending down immediately at OU.
He transferred a good chunk of that team, including Caleb Williams, and shite the bed against Utah 2X and Tulane
Now did USC have issues? Yeah, Clay Helton wrecked some recruiting pipelines. That’s been resolved and the NIL situation is up to par, so at this point he’s just underperforming like he did at OU.
For comparison, DeBoer is 20-6 against AP Top 25 with a 2-2 playoff record. Riley is 20-21 and 0-3 in playoffs.
Not be a dick, but you’re smoking some wild shite to suggest that. Riley’s issues have existed at both schools, especially the defense getting gapped by schools like Rutgers.
As for Will Stein, he’s done nothing to showcase the right to interview for a job of this level.

*sigh*
I’m done arguing with people about Lincoln Riley. I’m not even a fan of him. But apparently none of you remember USC, LSU, Oklahoma, and Florida were all ready to give him 100 million dollars. Won the Big 12 and beat Texas’ arse every year. Heisman/1st Rd QBs every single year.
He did always have shite defenses and would choke in the playoffs. So he has his weaknesses but you guys have the memory of parakeets

At the time, sure. He had five years and schools in the gutter were desperate for a hire. The same story is true for Brian Kelly. We have more data and the downward trend/flaws are confirmed. It’s not 2021 anymore.
As for beating Texas, it wasn’t a hard feat with Tom Herman at the helm.

Big 12 largely weak. Texas was largely mediocre most of that time. He didn’t win anything of significance with all those Heisman winning/1st round QBs. If anything it shows how overly dependent his teams are on one player. And all those programs desperate to hire him doesn’t mean it was a good decision
quote:You don’t seem to know what actual success is. Riley has achieved, at best, on par with KD. You might disagree but you cannot argue he’s a noticeable upgrade over KD

Really bad coaches somehow win at LSU and Kelly couldn’t.
Really good coaches lose at USC for some reason. Maybe Riley isn’t one. He was very successful at Oklahoma and failed at USC. Just like Sark and Kiffin.

Riley leaving OU because he didn’t want big boy football then ending up in the Big Ten is pretty funny.
