Hey.....good win for you guys yesterday.
Did Young play during the game or is Coach Saban going to try and save him a year of eligibility? Actually, with the Covid issue, if he does play this season, does he burn a year?
Thanks for a response and good luck with the season.

He played the majority of the 2nd half. This year won't count against eligibility for any player.

He went 5/8 for 54 yards. He also had a 12 yard scramble for a 1st down.
Unfortunately he fumbled on a sack.

he played the 4th quarter and not the majority of the second half. He may have come in the late 3rd quarter.
Missed a wide open TD pass and overall looked above average.

I didn't realize how small B Young is. He is tiny. He throws a rocket and progresses through his reads. Accuracy is amazing. Smaller version of Tua?
I'm glad we have Mac. I would be concerned about B Young making it through the year as a starter; given his size.

his true size is under 6 feet. I did like when he threw the ball over the middle he threw it high for his man to go up and get. He is going to have to do a lot of read option type stuff and use his speed. Was ticked out how boring the O got with all those wide runs that were stuffed for losses making him have a third and long.

Thanks for the responses.......appreciate it

3 things stood out to me.
1- he looked pretty comfortable and confident. For an example, he handled a very bad snap and had the composure to complete the play rather than turning over the ball, taking a sack, or just chunking it out of bounds.
2- most of his passes hit the receiver in stride, he had good form and his passes were mostly "on a rope" as the cliche goes.
3- he didn't quit on a pass play but when he did have to scramble or run the ball, it's obvious he's agile and quick.
Pretty encouraging imo
ok. One more thing. For a true freshman in his first game with very little preseason practice, he showed good pocket presence. He knew when and how to move to avoid pressure.

Confident yes but seems to not be patient at times but he is a true freshman

Time will tell but yes good last night.

The one scramble that looked good if he would have looked up he had a wide open WR in the middle of the field. Reminded me when Tua would think run first worried about getting sacked looking for a WR when pressure came it.
Jones last night was patient and took some big hits but made the pass.

Not saying he's the same level at this moment or will be, but his playstyle reminds me of Kyler

I’d definitely take that. Having said that though, Kyler looked like a baseball player as a freshman.

OL backups were often failing to provide him much time to be patient.

This... Mac had a clean pocket and picked them apart... Bryce didn't... I did like what I saw... He'll be good when it's his time but Mac IS the man.

I was very encouraged by what I saw from Young in his first real game action. The kid has a very, very strong arm and good pocket presence for his youth. I look forward to watching him develop.

He reminds me of Russell Wilson: poised, great pocket presence, great movement in the pocket, quick and slippery, only decent speed, goes down easily, always knows what to do, very accurate, intelligent, seems to go through progressions, a little stronger arm, same height but Wilson is much thicker.
I had seen him in HS, so I was not surprised by his size.
He had no spring practice and only one fall scrimmage, so IMO, he was very impressive with so little experience even practicing game type conditions at the college level. It was really amazing.

According to Dennis Dodd, CBS sports, Young will start for Alabama by the end of the year...

Bama was never threatened by Missouri in the season opener. The defense seems to be "fixed." But my main takeaway was Bryce Young. In mop-up time, the five-star quarterback prospect completed 5 of 8 passes and was sacked twice. Young wasn't great, but judging by his arm and athleticism, he will be the starter by the end of the season.

Man you don’t have to know anything to get paid to write about football.

Dennis, the dumb arse Dodd. That is going to be a hard sell with CNS. He just said Jones only had one miss read the entire game. The rest were spot on.
