as much as anything, that sounds like poor player leadership.

With the feeling in the complex being what it is, I can’t help but think the time to plan for After Saban is now. Waiting until the last minute to prep for the next guy will only exacerbate the problem.

If true, Saban is blowing this staff up and restarting.

I'm sure Byrne is making plans, he isn't stupid, but from a fan perspective if this is the sign of the downfall, we have lost the plot. We have been here many times before, at least wait for the announced hirings before we pass judgement.

This is the stupidest thing I've read on this forum all week. Are you a troll? You have to be a troll. We couldn't possibly have a real fan that's ready to start looking to our next coach after a 14-1 season.

Ozzie Newsome tried to talk Mack Wilson into staying in school? If so, I'll be damned. Mack ignored a Hall of Fame player and GM? If true, I'm glad Mack is gone. That kind of stupid is hard to overcome.

If he gets top 2 round money (which currently seems to be the most likely scenario), that isn't that dumb of a move from a guy who has had injury problems his entire bama career.

Tosh going to Georgia would suck.

Raymond going would suck more. I'd much rather see Tosh go than see Raymond there.

Yeah, but Ozzie has been one of the best NFL GMs in NFL history. His opinion is an opinion but an informed opinion.

I don't think Raymond is going to UGA. Makes me think he might be DC in waiting at LSU.

Yeah, that’s remarkable if true. Ozzie is one of the GOAT NFL GMs. He has drafted some great linebackers, first and foremost being Ray Lewis. If anyone can evaluate whether a linebacker is ready for the NFL, it’s Ozzie.

I get it and agree that in a normal situation Ozzie's opinion is incredibly valuable. I just think that to judge a player with an injury history, who risked really significant injury playing on a broken foot for bama in the Iron Bowl last season, for wanting to get paid is questionable. I wish Mack came back, but I can't blame him.

I still think the plan there is Aranda to HC, Raymond to DC, go get a quality OC once the Ed O era falters.
BUT, the UGA dc gig is a path to HCing now and until that position is filled I will worry that Raymond goes to UGA.

Not at all man. No trolling here. Just thinking we should be prepared. Nobody said anything about firing Saban. Just having conversation.

Sounds plausible. LSU is paying a lot of money to Aranda and Raymond for a reason. And, DC at UGA is a very good job. So, I think Raymond was given some assurances to make him stay at LSU.

there seems to be uneasiness and concern in the football building

This is not necessarily a bad thing. Uneasiness can be excellent motivation.

What would be bad is if these problems existed and Saban kept chugging right along per usual.

It seems pretty obvious that our staff had some issues in spots and was put together in large part for recruiting purposes. We knocked the recruiting part out of the park (seemingly) and Saban is doing whatever it takes to immediately remedy the on-the-field coaching issues.

So many people here decry staff turnover, yet what I see sink many more CFB ships is an unwillingness to adapt or an unwillingness to part with bad coaches, a la Mark Richt.

It's time Bama fans re-calibrate their minds toward understanding that even though losing the Natty was difficult, given how and to whom we lost, 14-1 with an SEC Championship while beating an excellent GA team (and a host of other good teams), spanking Tenn, and getting revenge on au is a really, really good season.

And the GOAT coach is doing whatever it takes to "right" the ship. I can't for the life of me understand why fans complain about issues, and then complain when coach takes dramatic steps to fix those issues. What did you want? Never-ending undefeated seasons with no coaching turnover, no player issues, and no problems, issues, or hiccups ever?

What planet have you guys been living on? No group of humans has ever continually done things perfectly into perpetuity without issue.

Honestly, I'm as interested in Bama football as I've ever been. The Champ got knocked down, and is turning over every stone in order to be stronger for the next fight. I'm excited. I'll leave the worrying like a wash-woman to other folks.
