Although he wasn’t here long, Sarkasian was the best in my mind. No drama, one of the best offensive performance over the season and particularly during the CFP

Sark on O and Pruitt on D are my two favorites so far.

Easy to discount Kirby but the guy was a great coordinator here.

He was very good.. but I remember being much happier with Pruitt’s D.

This.

The bad blood now makes it hard to acknowledge, but Kirby is Saban’s all time coordinator and it’s not close. He was Venables before Venables. Broyles award winner. Multiple time finalist. Top ten in defense basically every year. He was with us for seven years, which feels impossible now. 4 championships in that time. Coached multiple position groups. Was a heck of a recruiter. A million draft picks, awards winners, etc.

Sure he had his flaws, and he is a scum bag. But he is also the best assistant Saban has had by a long shot. His success over at UGA in comparison to all of our other former assistants, while ill-gotten, is more evidence that he’s the guy.

Wait.. Pruitt or Kirby? Both were very good. Pruitt brought more edge to defense. Kirby get players in right spot.

I'd have to go with Smart as he was the Bama DC for 8 years and consistently put out great defenses...

As for OCs, Sark overtook Kiffin after seeing this season...both are great play-callers but Sark didn't have one off game calling plays all year...

Kiffin. Never had an amazing QB but did such a good job that Saban never looked back. Also convinced Saban to bring in Sark as an analyst

All defenses have RPO problems. I don't think it was indicative of Kirbys ability.

We were transitioning from smash mouth football to an all out spread philosophy.

I preferred Pruitt's aggressiveness to Kirby's defensive style.

Consistent and long tenured. He's my pick.

Sark flaked out on us once, remember. Glad he did good coming back, but I give it to Kirby.

Kiffin was #1 until Sark came along. But the way each handled their business going into a national championship after each had taken other jobs makes Sark the clear #1 over Kiffin, and that really isn't debatable. That doesn't mean that Kiffin wasn't a great coordinator. But the sad fact is that he didn't finish the job.

Yes, we remember...that Sark was only OC for one game because Lane Kiffin didn't finish the job, and he put us in the lead in the national championship with 2:00 to play. What about that was Sark flaking out?

Totally get you. But if we are going to evaluate Kiffin off the field then its probably fair to also add that he is the reason Saban took a chance on Sark

Don't overlook Jim McElwain by judging what he did as a head coach after he left.

He played a big part in getting the monster rolling.
