If we fix the approach and mindset there are no physical issues on defense. That was an effort and toughness issue, those things are mental.

We can't speed up Proctor's feet or Formby's feet. That's where you have to earn your paycheck if you're Ryan Grubb and scheme around your deficiencies- or better yet play more athletic players and see if they're up to the task.

They could beat Georgia, win their "revenge" game against vandy, and then it's right back to coast mode and crowning themselves before a road trip morning kickoff at Missouri. I know how that ends

Wouldn't surprise me if we beat Georgia and then lay an egg against Mizzu or SC. Seems to be this team's identity.

Beating UGA will just prove that UGA is not very good either.

If we can just not look like dog shite against ULM and Wisky I will take a small step away from the ledge.

Much like our mental bedwetting against Florida at the turn of the century, I won't ever expect to beat alabama until I see us actually do it.

Same here.

As many have said, this isn't a talent problem. I'm not even sure it's a scheme problem. It looks purely like an effort problem, and a discipline problem.

There's a post going around on social media claiming players were out messing around until 1-1:30am at the hotel the night before. I'm not sure if that's been discussed, but if something like that persists this season will be one of the biggest disappointments considering the level of talent this roster possesses

You can gameplan all you want but if the focus and intensity isn't present in their minds, we are going to watch all of our blue chips get whipped by lesser teams

This is a really awful take. All this would mean is we have become Auburn, and our squinty-faced-dipshit coach circles a game on the calendar and goes all in for one game a year like Auburn does Bama.

DeBoer truly is the anti-Saban. Wouldn't shock me to lose this weekend and then go beat uga. The Sooner DeBoer goes back to his side of the Mason-Dixon the better.

Alabama is not beating Georgia. That game will look similar to what we saw on Saturday. The real tell will be the next week against Vandy. If DeBoer loses that one the fan base will absolutely turn against him and nothing will give him any good will moving forward. He will probably get fired for real if that happens. If not him, then Wommack.

I think we look better against ULM but win a struggle game against Wisconsin....but then go and beat UGA

I think it’s more likely (not going to promise anything with this team) does decent to great against ULM and Wisconsin given both teams have more traditional pocket passing QBs Wommack’s defenses pad their stats against and it’s at home BUT go on the road OVERCONFIDENT in a hostile environment vs a dual threat QB and get their asses beat

Actually, there might just be a talent issue as well. Not necessarily on an individual level, but a player ability / scheme fit. We have guys with talent, but the wrong skillset and body for what we are trying to do. And we seem to be the most talent deficient on the OL & DL where you need to be strongest in this league.

It still amazes me that you can get to this level of the sport and not have much fire. Was it always just easy with these guys having so much more talent than their HS competition? Saban couldn't unlock it for some of these guys, with DeBoer's personality, there's no way he's going to do it either.

Georgia may not be worth a frick either. But regardless, our kryptonite seems to be the away game and running quarterback combo, no matter how good/bad the team is so it could be an easy W for the dogs.

Even if we do pull a rabbit out of our arse in Athens, we'll turn around and shite the bed against a team like Vandy and OU again.

People are so damn focused on star ratings, like if someone is a 5 star he’s by God guaranteed to be a player.

Star ratings don’t tell you what is in a player’s heart and gonads. I think we have some people who are lacking there. And it was starting to show at the end of Saban’s term.

First the coaches must admit that they have totally "f" up. They will not do not do that. How can you fix problems that you will not even acknowledge?

I’m praying we are not two touchdown favorites over either.

Pretty soon that is going to be Vegas code that we are dogs.

That is... concerning.

These kids are now professionals, time to treat them as such. Hit them fines and suspensions. Maybe cut one or two of them in-season like they would in the pros and make them feel the heat.

We all know that Bama will have everything figured out by the time they get to Athens. Bama will play flawless against UGA as always.

Work on getting things cleaned up the next couple weeks. Go into UGA as a decided underdog with no one giving us a chance. DeBoer in the past has done well in the underdog role, Kirby has a mental block against Bama, we have the talent to do it. Stranger things have happened. All of sudden people will be talking 11-1 and competing for a national championship.

In a way, beating Georgia makes the situation worse. Deboer gets the teams ready to play top notch competition but can’t get his team ready to play mediocre opponents on the road.
I would say if they somehow beat Georgia, I would expect a poor showing the next game against Vandy and most definitely on the road at Missouri. I would expect a loss.
