Top to bottom this is one of if not the single toughest schedule Bama has ever played.

For all the dooming after FSU.... I mean, with that schedule, it wasn't that unrealistic that if the team didn't lock in and just kept perfoming like that, that another 1997 or 2000 type season might unfold. So glad DeBoer has been able to rally the troops.

The schedule is not a tough as it would have been five years ago. I don't think the SEC teams are as good as they were.

If we do make it into the playoffs this will be a battle tested group of people and a scary arse team to play.

Bama can lose one more game and still make the playoffs, but every game (with the exception of Eastern Illinois) is potential loss.

I see every game as winnable.....DeBoer has just get them in that mindset. Take each one at a time.

I think being "battle tested" is overrated and doesn't really matter.
A tougher schedule can beat a team down come the postseason, and usually the fresher, better team wins.

This is partly why we're seeing the Big Ten do so well in the playoffs. They only have to play 2 tough games per year.

The Big Ten has won 3 national titles in 11 years of playoffs.

He still has a point. The Big 10 teams get a few tough games and a bunch of cupcakes. Same thing for Clemson from 2015-2019

Ideally a team has a few tough games to know what it’s like to get punched in the mouth. But too many tough games and it just becomes harder to make the playoffs. The committee only cares about SoS to some extent

6 of the 11 playoff era national titles are from the SEC. The Big Ten has 3 and the ACC has 2.

Frankly, Alabama is basically the exclusive reason that Michigan won a national title. If our vice grip on Georgia's psyche wasn't so strong then Michigan would have ran into a competent passer Carson Beck in the national title instead of a incompetent passer Jalen Milroe in the semis. I think we should get a few thank you cards from Ann Arbor for what our team did in early December 2023. It essentially got them their first undisputed national championship since god only knows.

Anyway, I digress. The point being that Ohio State has almost exclusively carried the mantle for the Big Ten this century and only Phil Knight's lust for a national title may drive a second team into that role for the conference. I think Sherrone Moore is Michigan's Mike Dubose. They're going to be replacing him in 3-4 for wasting a lot of donor roster buys.

What we've seen is that its a coin flip on whether a grind or smooth sailing helps a team in the playoff era. You can make an argument for either and the data suggests it hasn't been a huge deciding factor one way or another.

Oklahoma's is worse.
Oklahoma doesn't play a single SEC team coming off a bye. We play FOUR.

Texas isn't a #9 team

They aren’t even ranked anymore.

Until they figure out the QB and OL positions they’re an elite defense paired with a mediocre to bad offense.

It’s not quite Oklahoma last year bad, but it’s not a top 40 unit.

It’s going to be a tremendous challenge to win a national championship. The regular season schedule is brutal. Then you possibly add another tough game if Bama makes it to the SECCG. Then you have to win multiple playoff games and a national championship game. I’m believing in this team again, but it’s going to take a ton of hard work and there aren’t many chances left to recover from a slip up.

This weekend will be challenging because Mizzou is committed to running the ball and we don't stop it well- so there's an X and O issue there, along with playing on the road.

I'm not just chalking up South Carolina as a W either. That will be the loudest stadium we would have played in to date, and it will be coming off 4 straight weeks of top 25 competition. I think we're miles better than them, but we were better than Oklahoma last year too. That one is just setting up as the quintessential "trap game" if there is one on the schedule. Mizzou will have our full attention, they are ranked in the op 15 and haven't lost a game yet. South Carolina will be limping into our game and could easily be overlooked

yep this is the absolutely brutal part. And we just don’t have as much depth do to NIL and injuries. We’re playing really well but we’re gonna have to dig deep to get through this schedule with 0-1 losses

Bryce and Jalen spit on Auburn voodoo. Current Alabama’s brains and talent should do the same. (even though AU’s front 7 is legitimate).

DeBoer is fearless and quietly thinks/knows he’s the smartest guy in a football room. He probably is.

Alabama has already played UGA and Vandy, OU has only played AU at home.

Doubling down on this after today.

Wins over top 10 Georgia and quite possibly top 10 Vandy after this week.

I never thought I’d use the phrase “top 10 Vandy” ever.
