Well damn, we should've kept at least one.

Don't. I still believe in the kid. He's only a freshman. We have to stop comparing him to JK Scott.

I'm not comparing him to JK. I'm comparing him to the rest of the punters in the NCAA. We are like 118 in punting. That's not good

Edit, I gave him too much credit

The guy has played four games. We can afford to give him some time to develop. I'm fine with that.

However, regardless of what Saban says (and he is right to give encouragement here), if we are punting for a 35 yard average at the end of the season, a change will be made at that spot.

I bet all 12 punters names were different variations of "Bobby Williams"

We’re not just asking for him to not shank and give us 40 yards. No ones asking him to flip fieldnposition after another three and out.

Does confidence increase leg strength or something?

The kid is hitting them pretty consistently around 35 yards.

If we had a freshman QB starting that was ranked 120th folks would be saying horrible stuff. I don't know why we treat punters differently than other players.

You know it's not really about leg strength, right? If it were, we'd have Jalen, who can squat like 600 pounds, out there punting instead of a string bean.

And those people would be assholes. The guy is who we have. He's doing the best he can. Either he'll pick it up or be replaced.

Were all 12 Aussie punters missing legs?

No, the Aussie is kicking it 35 yards and the guy from Lake Charles is kicking it damn near 50.

IMO this hits at the root of his problem. Right now he needs confidence and consistency - just go out, relax and kick it. Once you get that down then you can work on the fancier stuff.

He's not bad compared to just Scott, he's bad compared to every other punter in the entire country.

There are freshman punters all around the country outplaying him by a gigantic margin.
