From what I read on the board the past few days most here think that Milroe can't make more than one read before running and is a turnover machine.....so why would people be upset if he was already (or starting to) look to transfer??

I think that this means that the Milroe rumors are probably true.

I agree, but we'll know for sure by late Sunday night since the portal closes on the 30th.

My concern isn’t it Milroe leaves, but if Simpson leaves. I can’t imagine Buchner starts so I would assume Buchner backs up Simpson. But if we have Milroe and Buchner we are so fricked.

Evidently Coach Saban doesn't share your concern. I'm sure he has thought this out before offering him a scholarship. Things will be fine. Don't Worry, Be Happy.

Bye Milroe if he leaves and that's no disrespect. Milroe should be further along as a QB after being at Bama for 2 full years. What should Saban do? Wait and not receive the full talents of the other players on the offense because that will happen with a QB who is still learning the position.

Just to be clear, the QB situation is apparently not great, so we’re now melting about the coaches shaking up the QB situation?

Yep. Sauce was right on that one.

Meeting was good, Saban/Rees likes him. I’m probing to see what is happen with the other QB’s.

What has Simpson shown us for you to think this? He didn't exactly jump off the page in the spring game. Reports of him in spring practice weren't glowing.

No one should ever discuss or share concern over the team that this very forum is dedicated to. No shot.

Every comment should just be “go team!” posted repeatedly.

In all seriousness sharing concern over these things doesn’t mean anyone is questioning Saban. Not sure how so many arrive to that conclusion constantly. I believe Nick is doing everything possible to ensure we’re a championship program. That’s what he’s always done...but sometimes things don’t work out.

I think the cause and effect is going to determine whether this move is a good one or not. By that I mean if Saban knew one of the other QBs intends to hit the portal than I agree with him bringing in another QB even if it's Buchner. If however one of our current QBs hits the portal because Buchner was brought in then I hate it.

Well said!

The one time immediate transfer rule means for the elite programs like Bama is they don't have to wait for a guy to learn the position when they've been grooming him for years and the guy is still not ready.

Personally, I want Milroe to start. He's so fricking explosive. I don't think it matters if he's a one or two read guy right now because he'd be an absolute demon with RPOs. He wouldn't be able to run the same offense as BY, but he doesn't have to in order to be successful.

Milroes problem is he’s extremely careless with the football. That will get you beat. I think we’d all love to have QB with his running ability, but I don’t want that at the expense of two turnovers a game

I'm personally not disgusted by him committing

I think he’s actually a pretty quality backup/3rd string

That's fair. He needs to clean up his turnovers, but I don't think he needs to run a pro-style offense like BY and make 100 reads and checks every play.

Welp! Apparently Saban and Rees saw exactly what we saw on Saturday.

Why does this board, or maybe its just my computer, still redline "Saban"? Add him to the dictionary for goodness sakes!

Ok so here’s what I’m hearing,

He’s coming in to compete…

My thoughts are two things

1. He is a good backup with experience

2. He’s better than we think and they know it.

We shall see.

After you mentioned the Gator Bowl I too went back and started watching it. Buchner isn't bad at all. He can pass the ball and he's athletic. He's better than Simpson and Milroe at this time.
