Ty wasn’t Dan Marino out there but he was absolutely better than Milroe. Ty can go through his progressions, Milroe is a one read QB that can’t read a defense.

I can’t answer for most of you and I’m not doing mental gymnastics for Ty. He was throwing with more confidence in his reads - on time and more often on target - than Milroe. He can’t help it that his receivers dropped like a dozen passes.

I’m told the meeting with TB went well. I went and watched the ND/SC game. He had some turnovers but he was slinging it around.
My guess is if he even stops at Auburn they pull the “you can play right now”

Just want to point out Buchner's Spring Game stats for Notre Dame.
He went 8 of 18 for a total of 44 yards with an interception against the second team defense.
And people here are melting over Milroe and Simpson.

Close your eyes and go back in time. Take yourself to the start of the CFB season last year. ND vs Marshall.
Remember watching Buchner blow the game throwing 2 ints and losing to the Thundering Herd...most of us were laughing at ND and so thankful with our QB situation.
Now imagine in that moment someone told you that Buchner would be Alabama’s QB in 23...how would you react? I’d vomit personally.
Look I’m always going to hope for the best no matter the scenario but if Buchner is the guy then not sure how anyone can feel too optimistic about it. Especially since we still don’t have a first round prospect at WR.

Watching last years Gator Bowl, he looked pretty good for someone that had not played in two months. Distributed the ball well. Had some interceptions on a couple tipped balls. never lost his cool. Played from behind most of the game and still pulled it out. We could do worst.

If Buchner is coming in as an insurance policy so we don't have a true freshman backup if/when the loser of the QB competition hits the portal then whatever. Makes sense. He's familiar with Rees. If he's coming in to actually compete for the job that raises a massive red flag. The dude is not a good QB.

Apparently on BOL the word is Milroe will be in the portal by the weekend and he’s “been shopping around” for a while now. It would also make sense to bring in someone quickly if that is true.
I don’t buy it, though. Milroe is a good kid and seems like a Bama guy through and through. His teammates respect him.

Hurts was also a very good kid and definitely a Bama guy, but he had to do what he thought was best for him. I think he made the right decision, and his contract confirms it.

Adding Buchner doesn't address that concern. He doesn't have much more game experience than Milroe. It's not like this is a dude who has started 25 games.
