Is the ILB coach opening the spot for Charlie Strong? I don't know. I do know the Miami guys were saying a few weeks back that Strong was leaving with Steele and he had a firm offer from Bama.

It is very bad. Is he currently a coach?

Yeah, I had no idea Shaun Dion Hamilton is the Detroit Lions Assistant LBs coach. I'm happy for him. I think he's a smart guy who can be a DC very soon.

yes and no. I think NS likes coaches who have a few years experience before making them a full time coach

If they hired a Safety coach, which I don't think they will, someone like Nick Perry would be more of a qualified candidate as far as former players.

Was a GA, analyst, and has been assistant DB Coach for the Falcons for a few years.

Javier Arenas has been an analyst for a while, but I think he's more of a gofer at this point...

So how does Oregon feel about dismissing him now? Did not even wait for the investigation to complete. Very unfair to Traeshon.

Perfect example of not to knee jerk in situations like that.

Let due process work.

Alabama is expected to hire Robert Bala as inside linebackers coach, according to multiple reports. Bala is Liberty's linebackers coach and was previously Southern Utah's defensive coordinator:

Damn, Golding's pre-Alabama resume is STUNTIN all over this guy's. I look forward to his curiously long tenure here.

His exposure to Freeze's program might come in handy. Seems to have a pretty well rounded background, too.

This guy isn't being hired as a DC, pretty big difference.

ETA: His overall resume pre-Alabama looks pretty similar to Golding's, probably better.
Bala has significantly more experience at coaching LB's (the position he's being hired for) than Golding. Golding had never coached LB's prior to Alabama. Bala also had two more years of overall coaching experience than Golding. Golding had more years as DC than Bala, but that's not what Bala is being hired for. Neither had experience coaching at a premier school.

Golding Pre- Alabama Experience:
2006
Delta State (GA)
2007–2009
Tusculum (DC/DB)
2010–2011
Delta State (DC/DB)
2012–2013
Southeastern Louisiana (DC)
2014–2015
Southern Miss (DB)
2016–2017
UTSA (DC/CB)
